Yolanda Ivonne Montes Farrington, also known as Tongolele, was born on January 3, 1932, in Spokane, Washington. According to the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, her early days in show business saw her dancing in nightclubs throughout San Francisco during her teenage years.
Later on, Tongolele transitioned to being a Cabaret artist and relocated to Mexico City. Her cinematic adventures began with her first appearance in the 1948 film “Nocturno De Amor”. This was preceded by her roles in La Mujer De Otro, Han Matado a Tongolele!, Matenme Porque me Muero, The King of The Neighborhood, Habia Una Vez Un Marido, and numerous other productions.
