Who Was Stanley R. Jaffe? Exploring Life and Career of Kramer Vs. Kramer Producer Following His Death at 84

Stanley R. Jaffe, renowned producer of the hit series Kramer vs. Kramer, has sadly passed away at 84 years old. The reason behind his passing remains undisclosed. Throughout his distinguished career, Jaffe held key positions in various studios and was recognized for backing significant productions.

The producer also bagged an Oscar award for his former project, which was released in 1980. 

Jaffe joined the team at Columbia Pictures, having been the son of their executive, Leo Jaffe. He contributed to projects such as Fatal Attraction, Goodbye Columbus, Taps, Racing with the Moon, and Black Rain, along with several other titles.

In partnership with Sherry Lansing, Jaffe worked on the movie “Fatal Attraction” and later earned an Oscar nomination for his efforts in that production.

Born in New York City, Jaffe began his career at Seven Arts Associates. Subsequently, he moved to CBS where he spearheaded an incredibly bold production, “Goodbye Columbus,” which was created for Paramount.

Prior to embarking on his career as an independent producer, Jaffe held positions as Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer at various film studios.

Apart from Stanly’s work at Paramount Pictures, he was also responsible for creating ‘The Bad Bear’ and ‘The Bad Company’ through his own production company, Jaffilms. Prior to his return to Paramount as its chairman, Stanley had partnered with Lansing for several years.

Stanley R. Jaffe is survived by his wife, three children, five grandchildren, and two siblings.
