Priscilla Pointer, a renowned actress on stage, television, and film who was the mother of David, Katie, and Amy Irving, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 100. Her loving husband(s) and numerous dogs will surely miss her as she embarks on a new adventure, while her absence will be deeply felt.” – Written by Irving.
Pointer had a significant and illustrious career spanning both theater and cinema. She graced numerous prominent movies like Blue Velvet, The Falcon and the Snowman, The Onion Field, Looking for Mr. Goodbar, and Dallas, to name a few. During the 1970s, she took on leading roles in various crime dramas such as Kojak, Adam-12, Cannon, The Rockford Files, Police Woman, and Barnaby Jones, just to mention a few.
In simpler terms, Gabriel Barreto, Pointer’s grandson, paid tribute to her memory as well. He shared precious family moments and expressed that she was an exceptional grandmother and talented actress. Accompanying these images, he penned down on X, “She was a remarkable mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a cherished gem in the world of acting.
Pointer had three children, Amy, David, and Katie, with her former husband Jules Irving. Afterward, she was married to Robert Symonds, a union that lasted until Symonds passed away in 2007.
Priscilla Pointer passed away at a care home in Ridgefield, Connecticut. Her three offspring are the ones who carry on her legacy.
