Rose was often spoken of as a “devoted dad and grandpa,” who held “lofty standards” for those in his circle. His kin emphasized his lasting impact marked by “tireless kindness, steadfast determination, and unyielding backing for the Knicks.
In 2000, he tied the knot with Candice Bergen, five years following the death of her initial spouse, filmmaker Louis Malle. Despite not having kids together, Rose acknowledged Chloe Malle, Bergen’s daughter, as his own. His obituary enlisted his surviving relatives, which included his children, stepdaughter, and grandchildren.
