I can’t believe it… Gil Gerard is gone. His wife just shared the news, and my heart is absolutely broken. He fought so hard after being diagnosed with cancer so suddenly, but it wasn’t enough. Everyone knows him as Buck Rogers, and honestly, he was Buck Rogers to me and so many others. He was a legend, a true star, and I’m just devastated to hear he’s passed away. It feels like losing a piece of my childhood. It’s just… awful.

Gil Gerard pens heartfelt note to the world
The actor reportedly asked his wife to release a statement after his death. It read: “My 82 years have been a wonderful experience. I’ve been incredibly fortunate with the chances I’ve had, the people I’ve known, and the love I’ve shared. My life took me from Arkansas to New York, then Los Angeles, and finally home to North Georgia with my wife, Janet, after 18 amazing years. While all good things must end, I encourage everyone to spend their time doing what they love and being with those who bring them joy. I’ll see you somewhere among the stars.”
He is remembered by his son, Gib Gerard, and is also survived by his former wife, actress Connie Sellecca.
