Who Is Queen Camilla’s Sister, Annabel Elliot? All We Know As Prince William Removes Her From Royal Payroll

As a dedicated follower of the royal family, I have been intrigued by the recent news of Prince William removing Annabel Elliot from the royal payroll. Annabel, who is not only known as the Queen’s sister but also an accomplished interior designer, had held a significant position in the royal household for many years.

Prince William has chosen to no longer provide financial support for Annabel Elliot, a 75-year-old woman. She holds the distinction of being Queen Consort Camilla’s sister. While much is known about the prominent members of the royal family, fewer are acquainted with the extended family and those who receive funds from the royal household. Who is Annabel Elliot?

Besides being recognized as the queen’s sibling, Elliot holds the position of a paid interior designer for the royal family.

Following their wedding in 2005, King Charles made Annabel his primary designer for managing his estates.

The Duchess of Cornwall, ruled by Charles before his ascension following Queen Elizabeth’s passing in September 2022, reportedly paid Annabel, the interior designer, a substantial sum, estimated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, for her services over the years.

The Duchy of Cornwall, a 700-year-old estate belonging to the royal family, serves as a source of income for the heir to the British throne. According to its latest annual report, Annabel was excluded from the Duchy this year.

According to reports in The Telegraph, I’ve been told by insiders that the Prince of Wales won’t be renewing Annabel’s contract, but it’s not because of any fault in her work. In fact, they mentioned that her tasks were already completed and the team has learned all they needed from her.

According to an article in The Telegraph, it is stated that the Queen’s sister was compensated with commissions and reimbursed for purchasing furniture, decorations, and merchandise when she renovated and enhanced the Duke of Cornwall’s luxurious rental properties in Cornwall, Wales, and the Isles of Scilly.

With the Duke announcing prior that his design contracts weren’t open for bids, it seemed that Queen Camilla’s sibling faced no opposition in securing the royal role.

According to People magazine, Annabel is known as a highly respected interior designer, decorator, and antiques dealer on the international stage.

More recently, on July 10, Queen Camilla and Annabel were spotted together at Wimbledon.
