Who Is Natalia Grace? Learn About Her Real-Life Story In Good American Family Starring Ellen Pompeo

A sneak peek at the upcoming series “Good American Family” has just been released, sparking widespread excitement. This captivating drama is set to premiere on Hulu shortly, featuring an impressive ensemble of talented actors.

The plot of the show is based on the real-life experiences of Natalia Grace, a woman who was born in Ukraine and has dwarfism. Adopted at the age of 7, she was born on September 4, 2003.

Although Grace was adopted by an American family, they chose to relinquish her just a year later, citing that Grace had reached the age of majority under their laws.

In 2011, the family petitioned a court to alter Natalia Grace’s birth year from 2003 to 1989 through a legal order. However, in a heartbreaking turn of events in 2023, a DNA test concluded that Natalia was approximately 22 years old at the time, which means she was only around 8 when her adoptive parents left her in an apartment. As a result, her birth year has since been reverted back to 2003.

In addition to being featured on The Good American Family, her story was also explored in two other television programs, one of which is titled The Curious Case of Natalia Grace.

Discussing the show titled “The Good American Family”, it features Ellen Pompeo, along with Mark Duplass, Imogen Faith Reid, and Dulé Hill. Additionally, Christina Hendricks, Sarayu Blue, and Jenny O’Hara will also be part of this series.

In the trailer, Pompeo is heard narrating, “I’ve often felt fortunate and believed I was destined to create a secure environment for all children.” But as the story unfolds, the family’s viewpoint shifts dramatically amidst troubling allegations.

On March 19, 2025, Faith Reid is set to play the role of Natalia Grace in the upcoming series from Good American Family.
