Lil Tay, previously known as Tay Tian, made headlines again when she started an OnlyFans account upon turning 18 on July 29, 2025. This online sensation, who gained popularity in 2018, reportedly earned more than a million dollars within the first three hours of her page being active. On August 3, Tay boasted about this achievement on Instagram by sharing a screenshot and writing, “We shattered the OnlyFans record with $1M in just 3 hours!
In this promotional video, she explained why she was sharing the link on her 18th birthday: She’s in dire need of funds. She’s flat-out broke! Let a girl secure her finances.
From death hoax to social media comeback
Initially, Lil Tay vanished from social media in the year 2018, following a series of viral posts where she boasted about being a 9-year-old millionaire. Later on, in August 2023, her Instagram account posted an announcement stating that she and her brother Jason had passed away according to PEOPLE. Yet, there was no formal confirmation regarding this matter from the authorities or her family.
On the following day, Tay communicated to TMZ, “I feel it’s important to clarify that my brother and I are secure and living…The past 24 hours have been extremely distressing.” She explained that a third party infiltrated her account and circulated alarming falsehoods and gossip.
Here’s what happened after the death hoax
In September 2024, concerns arose among fans when Tay’s social media posts indicated she was in the Intensive Care Unit due to a heart tumor. She later disclosed that she had undergone open-heart surgery and was on the road to recovery. On September 14, 2024, her account joyfully announced that the operation had been successful. Tay subsequently posted an update, “My heart tumor has been surgically removed. I’m back! I have such a deep love for each of you, and this time, nothing will deter me from realizing my dreams.
As Tay Tian, I’ve recently made a decision to alter my content focus towards adult-oriented material. In preparation for my OnlyFans debut, I’ve been hinting at this change on platforms like TikTok and Instagram. On July 22, in a video, I posed the question, “It’s my 18th birthday on July 29th, and all the boys can’t wait and are urging me to share the link as soon as I turn 18. Girls, what do you think? Should I go for it?
Approximately 9 million people follow Tay across various platforms. She frequently shares videos about lifestyle, popular trends, and collaborations with her brother Jason. Additionally, it appears that she has a strong bond with her mother, who stood by her throughout her medical experiences. However, there seems to be a hint of strain in their relationship as Tay playfully teased on TikTok, “point of view: your mommy tries to prevent you from sharing the link.
