Among them, Holly Jonas, played by a succession of talented young actresses, stands out as one of the most compelling and enduring stories.
Since its debut in 1965, Days of Our Lives has introduced and subsequently written out numerous characters as part of its intricate storyline. However, there’s one character whose growth on the show spans from her infancy to her teenage years – Holly Jonas.
On the classic soap opera, Holly Jonas’s character has undergone a profound transformation, portrayed by a talented cast of actors suitable for her various age stages.
Who is Holly Jonas?
On the popular daytime soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” Holly Fay Jonas is revealed to be the daughter of the deceased doctor Daniel Jonas and Nicole Walker. She entered the show as a newborn on December 21, 2016. Her birth came about through surrogacy, with Chloe Lane serving as the carrier following Daniel’s passing.
From the time she was born, Eric Brady and Chloe took on the role of raising her as if she were their own biological daughter, due to the belief that her real mother, Nicole, had unfortunately passed away.
Due to the rumors, it was unclear if Holly Jonas was Deimos Kirkis’ daughter or not. Chloe kept Holly’s true parentage a secret until much later. For a long time, Chloe and her mother Nicole were estranged, but they reconciled in 2019.
Since 2023, Nicole and Holly have resided at the DiMera mansion. During this time, Holly developed feelings for Johnny DiMera who also lived there. However, when her mother informed her that a relationship with Johnny was not feasible, Holly shifted her attention to Tate Donovan Black, whom she now dates.
From 2016 to 2017, Holly was acted by Cara and Sienna Gwartz. Later, Oakley and Taytum Fisher portrayed the character from 2017 until 2020. Subsequently, Harlow and Scarlett Mallory played Holly from 2020 to 2022. Elin Alexander assumed the role of Holly Jonas during these last two years.
Starting at age 16 in the year 2023, Holly has been depicted without showing her early childhood years. Currently, Ashley Puzemis plays the role of the 17-year-old Holly in presentations. Nicole Walker, Holly’s mother, is portrayed by Ari Zucker in the production.

For over two decades, I’ve had the privilege of stepping into the role of Nicole Walker on Days of Our Lives. However, I must now share that my tenure with the show has come to an end. My contract was not renewed in January, and I will no longer be a part of the DOOL family. There have been rumors circulating that this decision might have been influenced by my legal action against the soap opera. Nevertheless, I remain dedicated to my craft and am grateful for the memories and experiences I’ve gained during my time on the show.
In February, Zucker publicly expressed concerns over the unpleasant working conditions for women at DOOL, leading her to file a lawsuit against Corday Productions and ex-director Albert Alarr. According to Deadline, she accused them of sexual harassment.
Based on the findings of the report, Alarr repeatedly behaved disrespectfully towards women on set, making inappropriate comments, and physically advancing himself beyond boundaries. As shared during a press conference in West Los Angeles, Zucker expressed her concern, “For an extended period, I’ve witnessed my female colleagues being subjected to sexual harassment, violation, and degradation by Albert.”
The 50-year-old actress faced consequences for speaking out publicly. Her salary was reduced, and the character Nicole Walker was eliminated from the show’s script. According to her lawsuit, she was terminated not long after the news broke in media publications, as reported by Variety.
For a quarter of a century, Zucker shone in the daytime drama “DOOL.” Sadly, her tenure came to an unexpected conclusion. Meanwhile, her on-screen daughter, Ashley Puzemis, continues to act in the show as Holly Jonas.
