In the whirlwind of Coachella 2024, I, Chappell Roan, found myself making waves. As an American singer-songwriter, I strive to set myself apart in the realm of music artists through my unique style, distinctive appearance, and innovative work. Yet, many may not realize that the Good Luck, Babe singer had Dan Nigro as a trusted partner. This versatile instrumentalist and record producer is more than just an acquaintance; he’s close friends with Olivia Rodrigo and serves as her primary producer too.

Daniel Leonard Nigro, more commonly known as Dan Nigro, is well-recognized within the music industry. At 42 years old, this accomplished songwriter hails from a family of artistic talents and was once a band member in As Tall As Lion. Music piqued Dan’s interest at an early age, leading him to form a four-piece band with his childhood friends that eventually gained local popularity.

Dan Nigro often collaborates or works in close proximity with well-known figures within the music scene, such as Carly Rae Jepsen, Kylie Minogue, Carolina Polacheck, Sky Ferreira, and Conan Gray.

Chappel Roan’s remarkable musical career has propelled her into public attention, and her album The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess reached as high as the 8th spot on Billboard’s Top Album chart. However, this achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the skilled record producer Dan Nigro.

In a conversation with Fast Company back in February 2024, Dan Nigro discussed his partnership with Chappell Roan. He also mentioned that he firmly believed that Roan, at just 26 years old, was destined for stardom. To quote him directly, “I knew from the get-go that Chappell was born to shine.”

While talking about meeting Roan in 2018, and their first writing session, he recalled- 

For a considerable time, I firmly believed in her triumph. To this day, it remains one of the most delightful collaborations in songwriting that I’ve experienced with anyone. I was utterly captivated by the art she was producing and the messages she shared.
