As a lifestyle expert with a heart for empathy and understanding, I find myself deeply moved by Maren Morris‘ journey this year. From navigating a divorce to embracing her bisexuality, she has shown remarkable resilience and courage. Yet, amidst the whirlwind of changes, one constant shines brightly – her love for her son, Hayes.
As a long-time fan of Maren Morris, it’s fascinating to see her journey unfold. Being a fellow artist myself, I can empathize with the highs and lows she’s experiencing this year. From going through a divorce, as I did some years back, to embracing her identity by coming out as bisexual – these are significant milestones that take courage.
Maren Morris talks about her relationship with her four-year-old son Hayes Andrew, whom she shares with her former spouse Ryan, in a recent interview with PEOPLE before the release of her new EP Intermission. In this conversation, she discusses their strong bond and how his steadfast support has helped her navigate through various challenges.
Maren Morris described how her son, Hayes, has been handling the changes in his life due to her divorce. She admitted, “He’s helped me get through this year – whether he realizes it or not. I suspect he might not, but I want to be the best mom I can be for him.” Sharing her thoughts on how her son may have been impacted by the separation, she said, “It’s challenging when a relationship ends, especially when you share a child, and you need to maintain a strong front for your little one. I believe he’s experienced a lot, and there must be a great deal of confusion since he’s so young.”
Apart from mentioning this, Maren expressed her conviction that she and Ryan Hurd have been effective parents to their son. She went on to discuss how her RSVP Redux tour strengthened her bond with him, as they seem to be little accomplices embarking on an endless bus adventure together. Maren stated, “It brings me immense joy seeing him thrive out here and knowing he loves it so much.”
Maren Morris acknowledged that her song “Because, Of Course” is essentially a heartfelt message dedicated to her son Hayes. She penned it with him in mind. In her own words, “The tune represents my vow to him: Every kind of love, particularly a mother’s, should be boundless. However, I appreciate that when people listen to the song, they might interpret it as a romantic ballad. But in truth, it wasn’t written with romance in mind. It was simply about love in general.”
As a die-hard fan, I must confess that the whirlwind of changes for this 4-year-old prodigy, Maren Morris, has left me spellbound. However, she’s been handling it all with an admirable maturity beyond her years. Recently, she courageously shared about identifying as bisexual, a decision that undoubtedly brought her life under the microscope. Yet, she marches on with unwavering confidence and bravery, setting an inspiring example for us all.
