On April 2nd, NetEase Games and Everstone Studio will release Chapter 2: Liangzhou, the next installment in the Hexi expansion for Where Winds Meet.
I’m so excited about the new expansion for Where Winds Meet! It takes you to this amazing region called Liangzhou, which is covered in icy mountains – it looks stunning. There are new bosses to fight, a brand new weapon to master, and a ton of story content to dive into. Best of all, it’s available now on iOS, Android, PS5, and PC through Steam and Epic Games!
You can find the Hexi region recap, new screenshots, and more Chapter 2: Liangzhou details from Everstone Studio and NetEase Games below:
Everstone Studio announced that the next big update for their open-world martial arts game, Where Winds Meet, called “Liangzhou,” will be available on April 2nd. This update continues the Hexi expansion and takes players from the desert landscapes of Jade Gate Pass to the snowy mountains and fortified towns of Liangzhou. It includes a new main story, a unique new martial arts sect, the long-awaited Heng Blade weapon, and challenging new bosses to fight.
Liangzhou is the exciting second chapter in the larger Hexi expansion, a story unfolding across three diverse regions. It continues the narrative established in the first chapter, taking players to a brand new and immersive frontier.
New Map Region & A Mysterious New Phase
Okay, so after pushing through Jade Gate Pass, Liangzhou is a total change of scenery! It’s way different from those endless deserts we were just crossing. The whole place feels inspired by this really beautiful, old-school Chinese poetry – think glowing wine cups and stuff – but it’s also a heavily fortified city, so there’s this cool mix of beauty and danger. And get this: something big happens in the story, and Liangzhou is going to change. Apparently, it’s going to unlock a whole new way to explore and fight in the Jianghu – something totally different than anything we’ve seen so far. I’m really excited to see what happens!
New Story: Liangzhou Melody and Paper Moon
This update features two separate stories. “Liangzhou Melody” tells the story of a young musician trying to find the home he’s always dreamed of, and “Paper Moon” explores how a disagreement within a Buddhist temple changes the lives of two people during a time of unrest. Both stories share a common thread: a longing for the peace and beauty of Chang’an, which offers a small hope in a chaotic world.
New Sect: Raging Tides
This new group originated with soldiers and focuses on unwavering determination in combat, valuing the strong bonds formed between those who fight together. Surprisingly, this intense discipline is balanced by a relaxed, joyful lifestyle and a fondness for wine when they aren’t training.
New Weapon: Heng Blade
The Heng Blade, a masterpiece of Tang Dynasty weapon making, has finally arrived. It’s known for its straight, sharp design and precise craftsmanship. Its combat moves were created by Stephen Tung Wai, a celebrated Hong Kong Film Award-winning action choreographer (known for films like Hard Boiled, Hero, and Reign of Assassins). The Heng Blade focuses on quick, defensive fighting with swift counterattacks, introducing a new martial arts style called “Stonesplit Strength” that complements the powerful strikes of the Mo Blade.
New Campaigns & World Bosses
Players can experience exciting new adventures in a snowy landscape. They can investigate the mystery of the “Death of Governor” by overcoming cunning traps, or battle a massive creature called “Town Gate Roar” during the intense siege at Dasan Pass. The Liangzhou wilderness will also feature special world bosses – the hauntingly beautiful Moongazing Maiden, the powerful Everdeer, and the strange Pocketrupt Circus – guaranteeing plenty of unexpected encounters.
Explore the expansive, snow-covered lands of Liangzhou in the latest update to Where Winds Meet, launching April 2nd! Learn the powerful new Heng Blade, discover the secrets hidden in frontier towns, and challenge powerful new bosses. Join us and begin a thrilling new adventure in the Jianghu!
