Where Was Rich Homie Quan Laid To Rest? Everything We Know About His Last Rites And Celebration Of Life Event

As an ardent fan of Rich Homie Quan, I find myself deeply moved and saddened by his untimely demise at just 34 years old. His music, especially hits like Type of Way and Flex, were anthems that resonated with many of us, and his unique style helped shape the Atlanta hip-hop scene.

On September 17, after a heartfelt celebration of life event that drew close friends, relatives, and admirers, Rich Homie Quan, famous for songs like Type of Way and Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh), who sadly passed away at the age of 34 on September 5, was given his final resting place.

As a dedicated follower, I find myself deeply moved as I recount the heartfelt tributes and remembrances paid to the rapper, who was known to many by his stage name. In life, he went by Dequantes Devontay Lamar, but to me and countless others, he was simply a source of inspiration.

The moment I held you, my life transformed instantly,” Lamar penned in a tribute within the obituary. “You were an extraordinary person,” he mournfully noted about his late son. “I’m grateful to have been your father,” he continued, expressing gratitude towards God for letting him be his dad. “May we reunite soon – rest in peace, my son,” Lamar signed off.

Tammie Morgan-Chism, Quan’s mother, similarly paid tribute to her son, saying “When people said I wouldn’t have children, God gave me you, and you’ve been the cornerstone of my life from start to finish.” Just like Lamar, she too expressed thanks to the Lord for granting her 34 years with Quan. Although she will miss their early morning and late-night conversations, Quan’s mother stated that she would find comfort in believing her son is now her guardian angel.

The obituary portrayed Quan as a beaming father of five, and a remarkable individual with an ardent love for both baseball and music.

Whenever I have some leisure time, you’d often find me honing my swing at a batting cage. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of mastering every position on the field, which has given me a profound appreciation for the game. When I’m not on the diamond, my days are usually filled with listening to music or crafting my own melodies, as mentioned in my obituary.

The text proceeded to elaborate on Quan’s musical heritage, noting that following his initial record contract in his youth, he earned recognition for his exceptional dedication within the music industry. As he progressed, Quan significantly contributed to Atlanta’s renowned music culture by infusing it with his unique style.

The day preceding the funeral, Quan’s estate shared an emotionally charged tune named “Song Cry”. You can listen to it here below:

The investigation into the cause of Quan’s death is ongoing, but he will be buried at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.

According to TMZ, it was reported that Quan’s girlfriend made an emergency call on the day of his death, stating that he had passed away while sleeping on the couch in his living room on September 4th. She explained that upon discovering him, Quan was foaming at the mouth.
