In this walkthrough, I’ll detail each essential step and provide all necessary resources for achieving the optimal outcome. Of course, a significant part of this tutorial will involve finding missing journal entries, but rest assured, we’ll address other prerequisites too.
This manual is designed to help you find all 15 pieces of Ozma’s diary. If you click on the title of the document, you’ll be directed to the walkthrough that corresponds to the mission where these diary entries are hidden, in case you prefer additional context while searching.
How Many Endings Are There In The First Berserker: Khazan?
In summary, there are a total of three different outcomes. The one you’ll get depends on the decision you make while talking to Daphrona just before the battle with Ozma. However, not all decisions may be accessible unless you’ve met specific requirements or conditions first.
- The Normal Ending has no requirements outside of completing the main mission. You’ll also need to select the “I will have my revenge” text in order to receive this ending.
- The Charon’s Chain Ending requires that you complete the Charon’s Chain side mission. If you’ve done that, you’ll simply need to select the “I want to speak to him” dialogue option. This will slightly modify the ending, but, more importantly, it will give you access to a third phase of the Ozma fight.
- The True Ending requires that you collect the 15 fragments of Ozma’s Diary. Additionally, you’ll need to complete all the side missions. Now, select the “I must know the truth” dialogue option when speaking to Daphrona, and you’ll receive the most complete ending.
The Location Of Ozma’s Diary Fragments
To achieve the optimal conclusion, you’ll have to gather a total of fifteen entries from Ozma’s diary. This set includes four entries labeled ‘The Day the Black Moon Rose’, four labeled ‘Hismar Conquest’, four labeled ‘Prophecy’, and three labeled ‘Reese’.
The Day the Black Moon Rose 1

The Blade Nexuses are situated between the Old Town and Main Street. This particular document is hidden behind a locked gate, near the statue and surrounded by Chaos Clusters, with the Beast of Rampage roaming nearby. If you have the shortcut for a ladder unlocked from the Old Town Blade Nexus, you can simply climb the ladder and follow the main path. A short walk after passing through the gate will lead you to the correct location – the page will be on your right, directly in front of the statue.
Because of a glitch in my game, I didn’t get The Day the Black Moon Rose 1 as expected. Instead, I got two copies of The Day the Black Moon Rose 4 by mistake. Yet, it appeared in my inventory as if it were The Day the Black Moon Rose 1. This can be perplexing, but even with duplicate items, you’ll have the right documents in your inventory.

1. In the very room where you encountered both the Pincer Spider and Failed Creation, you’ll find a nook with bookshelves that houses this particular document. The nearest Blade Nexus is located within the Sector No. 4 Laboratory Wing. Advancement through this stage is impossible without passing through this specific room.
2. This document is tucked away in a circular alcove of bookshelves, which you’ll find in the same chamber where you battled against both the Pincer Spider and Failed Creation. The Sector No. 4 Laboratory Wing houses the closest Blade Nexus, and you can’t advance through this stage without venturing into this room.
3. You’ll come across this document in a circular nook of bookshelves situated within the very room where you engaged with both the Pincer Spider and Failed Creation. The Sector No. 4 Laboratory Wing is home to the nearest Blade Nexus, and you can’t proceed further in this stage without crossing through that particular room.
4. This document can be found within a circular alcove of bookshelves located in the same room as your encounters with both the Pincer Spider and Failed Creation. The Sector No. 4 Laboratory Wing is where you’ll find the closest Blade Nexus, and progress through this stage cannot be made without traversing this specific room.
5. This document is hidden in a circular alcove of bookshelves within the very same room as your battles with both the Pincer Spider and Failed Creation. The Sector No. 4 Laboratory Wing contains the nearest Blade Nexus, and you can’t advance any further in this stage without passing through this particular room.

In the very same room where you battled the Elite Spellsword, there’s a false wall on your right-hand side, near the doorway leading to the boss battle. Push through this deceptive barrier, and you’ll discover the hidden document lying there.
The Day The Black Moon Rose 4

The document you’re looking for is situated at the peak of a ladder located along one of the challenging maze paths. The nearest Blade Nexus can be found in the Sector No. 4 Laboratory Wing. If you didn’t dislodge the ladder, you’ll have to navigate quite a distance through the game levels. You’ll recognize your location when you’re on a wobbly bridge spanning the center of a tower. From the bridge, move towards the back wall. With your back to the wall, jump down onto the platform on your right-hand side.
First, let’s reverse directions so that your front is toward the wall. Then, lower yourself onto the platform on your right side. Follow the path down towards the door beneath. This is an optional path leading to a treasure chest. After you’ve collected it, ascend the ladder ahead and find the diary fragment in front of you.

You’ll come across this diary entry near the stairs that ascend to the ‘Servant of Chaos’. If all the secret passages are accessible, the nearest ‘Blade Nexus’ is located on the ‘Veiled Path’. This spot is at the very end of the stage. If you collide with the boss gate, then you’ve likely missed it completely.

Make your way to the Grand Central Theater Blade Nexus. Once there, choose the path on your left. Reaching the end of this path, you’ll discover Ozma’s diary entry resting near a statue.

To reach the Hismar Conquest 3 document, first, ascend from the Ruins Bridge Blade Nexus using the elevator. After you’ve arrived at the upper level, navigate towards the region situated behind the elevator shaft. The document will be found there.

The final Hismar document can be located to your left, right beside the entrance of the waterfall, which is situated within the vast cavern area of the stage. This location is quite near to the Ruins Bridge Blade Nexus.

In the same location as the third Soulstone within the Corruptor’s Fortress mission, the third part of the prophecy is hidden. This region is characterized by the presence of a Frenzied Beast.

Make your way to the Bloodstained Fountain and advance, as this stage is quite straightforward, more like a direct path.
The document you’re looking for can be found on the left side of the bridge, just before engaging with the Elite Corrupted Creation. It is positioned in front of a heap of gruesome remains.
In some cases, individuals have come across the Crimson Trace paper during Skalpel’s research study. You will encounter it towards the final stages of your exploration, following a conversation with Lantimos.

Move to the secret room behind the Grand Central Theater by crossing the bridge, entering through a series of rooms, down the hallway, and downstairs. Take a left when you reach the bottom. After vanquishing the Pell Los Soldier ghosts, pass through the wall adorned with a painting (it’s an illusion). Inside this concealed area, you will encounter a Pell Los Fighter and two Pell Los Archers. Defeat them to obtain the Prohecy 3 document.

After locating the last document during the Centurial Order phase, proceed by going down the stairs. At the end of the corridor, you’ll encounter an archer. A Pell Los Guardian Knight is hidden in a niche to your left. Defeat these adversaries, then venture to the location where the Guardian Knight was hiding. Take a left turn thereafter, and you’ll discover the diary fragment.

Make your way to the Old Town Blade Nexus. After that, keep following the main road. This path will lead you down some stairs, passing several soldiers along the way and a ballista as well. Upon reaching your destination, you’ll find yourself in a room inhabited by a Pell Los Lancer and a Pell Los Mage. Once you defeat these two characters, search for Ozma’s Diary in the back corner of the same room where the Pell Los Mage previously stood.

It’s difficult to overlook this spot. Make your way to the Chapel Blade Nexus, then retrace your steps into the neighboring mausoleum. The document you seek will be found in front of the colossal statue.

Starting at the Primary Entryway of the Temple Complex Known as Blade Nexus, proceed into the temple, veer right, ascend the staircase, traverse down the corridor, reach the balcony, then descend using the ladder, continue straight towards an elevator, but opt for the ladder instead, and you’ll find yourself on a rooftop where a Creature of Insanity and several Observers reside.
Move along to the adjacent rooftop’s far side, retrieve a Yoma Pursuer and another Beast of Madness. Then, jump down to the nearby rooftop. There, you can climb onto the rafters. In the middle of these rafters lies the Reese 3 document.
Help! The Document Isn’t Where You Said It Would Be!
In normal circumstances, these documents can be found in predictable locations, but there have been some unusual instances where they appear to have moved. Strange occurrences have been noted as well. If you examine the images I’ve shared for The Day the Black Moon Rose 1 and The Day the Black Moon Rose 4, you’ll see something peculiar: both documents are labeled as “The Day the Black Moon Rose 4”. I encountered a similar issue with Prophecy 3. However, when I double-checked my records, I found no duplicates.
Additionally, it’s been noted that some of these documents have turned up in various spots. For instance, one of my coworkers stumbled upon the Prophecy 4 document during the Crimson Trace mission in Skalpel’s study, while I found it on the bridge to the left before battling the Corrupted Creation – but for me, it was Prophecy 2. However, since I got a duplicate of Prophecy 3, I suspect that’s why some of them seem to be mixed up, making things quite perplexing.
Hey there! Let me clarify something about Ozma’s diary fragments that might be perplexing: even though it seems like an issue, this bug won’t prevent you from gathering all the pieces of her diary. If you’re having trouble finding a specific type of document, my suggestion is to double-check the locations of all similar documents. Chances are, if one has gone missing, another might have switched places with it.
