When Oprah Winfrey Called Kamala Harris’ Vice President Win ‘Extraordinary’ For Women Across The World

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for historical significance and personal narratives, I find Kamala Harris’ journey to become the Vice President of the United States nothing short of inspiring. Her election marks a milestone not just for women but for people of color everywhere, symbolizing that dreams can indeed come true regardless of one’s background.

The election of Kamala Harris as the U.S. Vice President marked a historic and momentous milestone, being the first woman and person of color to hold this position. With her victory, all eyes are now on Harris, as she has been chosen as the Democratic nominee for the 2024 Presidential elections. Notably, American television host Oprah Winfrey appears to be one of Harris’ most ardent supporters.

As a passionate advocate, I can’t help but express my excitement if Kamala Harris were to become our nation’s president. It would be a powerful moment for us all, symbolizing that no dream is too big or unattainable. This historic victory would also underscore the fact that the President of the United States could be the daughter of immigrants, hailing from India and Jamaica.

However, this is not the first time that the talk show host has highlighted her support for the VP.

During an interview with People magazine in 2020, Oprah shared her emotions about the Biden-Harris win and highlighted the significant role Black women had in achieving this triumph.

Oprah expressed, “I believe her message for women worldwide is incredibly powerful. For American women, it’s hard to quantify its impact. Seeing a woman who resembles you in such a prominent position, gives you an idea of what you too can achieve. End of story.”

“I can’t even express how profound the victory is, generationally speaking. All I can do is pray that we make it through the inauguration and move beyond this particularly tough period for our democracy. It’s a testament to its resilience, and I’m eagerly looking forward to turning the page.”

Prior to Biden’s resignation announcement and Harris assuming office, the U.S. election was marked by weeks of turmoil and anxiety among Democrats. For months, they debated whether or not Biden should step down, and on July 13, Trump survived an assassination attempt during a campaign event.

In November 2024, the U.S. presidential race between Kamala Harris (the current Democratic candidate for president and vice president) and Donald Trump (Republican nominee) is scheduled. As per recent surveys, both nationwide and in critical swing states, Harris has a slight advantage over Trump at this point.
