When Lisa Kudrow Shared How She Started Watching FRIENDS Again Post Matthew Perry’s Death: ‘Since He Died…’

Lisa Kudrow, along with her fellow Friends cast members, maintains a strong connection among themselves. The news of Matthew Perry’s passing deeply affected everyone, including Lisa Kudrow.

On an episode of “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend,” Kudrow shared that she started re-watching their sitcom as a way to see her deceased friend’s performances again.

Kudrow shared that she had a moderate level of curiosity about the sitcom, but when Matthew Perry passed away, her feelings shifted for her.

In response to the passing of Matthew, I was able to resume watching the show since it no longer concerned me personally. Instead, it seemed connected to him in some way, as she expressed during her interview on the July 22, 2024 episode.

In relation to the series, Lisa Kudrow shared that she’s been revisiting it by continuously playing episodes. Specifically, she’s been watching from start to finish without following a specific season order, and has been engrossed in the show for hours each day since its creator passed away.

Once again for the Mad About You actress, everyone was phenomenal in the show. 

Let me clarify for those unfamiliar: Lisa Kudrow portrayed Phoebe Buffay, whereas Matthew Perry played Chandler Bing. Simultaneously, the other cast members included Jennifer Aniston as Rachel Green, David Schwimmer as Ross Geller, Courteney Cox as Monica Geller, and Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani in the series.

Matthew Perry died back on October 28, 2023. He was 54 at the time of his death.
