When Jax Taylor Said ‘Marriage Is A Work’ And He ‘Doesn’t Believe’ In Divorce Before His Brittany Cartwright’s Filing For Separation

As a lifestyle expert with years of observation and experience under my belt, I must say that the journey of Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright serves as a poignant reminder of the complexities and unpredictabilities that lie within human relationships.

Jax Taylor, a well-known celebrity from The Valley, aged 45, might be reconsidering his stance on divorce following Brittany Cartwright’s, 35, filing for it after about five years of marriage. Interestingly, Taylor had previously expressed skepticism towards this idea, having openly shared his thoughts on the matter in the past.

In March 2023, the reality star spoke with People Magazine and expressed his viewpoint: “I don’t endorse divorce. My parents never got divorced.” He further stated, “I don’t support that idea. Marriage requires effort. I’m not implying every day is perfect.”

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’d like to share some insights about relationships: they’re not always sunshine and roses, but that’s part of their charm. A strong bond is forged when you love deeply and face challenges together. In my view, it’s the ebb and flow, the highs and lows, that make a relationship truly remarkable – we experience intense love, and sometimes intense disagreements, but it’s all part of the beautiful dance.

In that moment, the reality TV personality expressed that he and his spouse were more like “best friends,” with her being the sole individual who could tolerate him. He further explained they greatly enjoyed each other’s company and couldn’t imagine living without her by his side. The star from The Valley described her as his “Yin” and himself as the “Yang.”

Taylor shared with the media outlet that he wasn’t an individual one might find it easy to interact with, as it takes a specific kind of person to manage him. He further stated that despite his challenging nature, his life was improved by these complexities. Remarkably, he acknowledged that she was the sole individual capable of handling him effectively.

Recently, it’s come to light that his wife initiated a divorce from him. During their podcast, When Reality Hits with Jax & Brittany, which they co-host, Cartwright discussed this separation in February 2024. According to reports, she explained that marriages can be extremely challenging and that the past year had been particularly tough for her. Cartwright revealed that he and Taylor were spending some time apart, with her choosing to move into a different residence to prioritize her mental wellbeing.

The court records show that the news outlet acquired them, and they indicate that Cartwright filed for divorce on August 27, six months after the stated date of separation, which was January 24. The reason given for this was “irreconcilable differences.”

As a devoted mother, I have formally petitioned for both physical and legal custody of my precious 3-year-old son, Cruz, who I lovingly share with my former spouse. Simultaneously, in this petition, I have respectfully requested that neither party be obligated to provide spousal support.
