As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience in the entertainment industry, I find myself increasingly concerned about the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential impact on Hollywood and beyond. Having worked alongside some of the most iconic actors and witnessed the magic they bring to life on screen, I can’t help but feel a sense of unease when it comes to AI-enhanced performances.
In light of the widespread acclaim for director Robert Zemeckis’s movie, Here, Lisa Kudrow is speaking out about potential dangers posed by artificial intelligence to the film industry in Hollywood.
As your trusted lifestyle guide, I’m thrilled to introduce you to an innovative narrative journey that unfolds a heartwarming multi-generational saga. In this unique production, the visual transformation of our talented cast members is skillfully enhanced by artificial intelligence, providing a captivating exploration of family dynamics and generational change.
Talking on the Armchair Expert podcast, Kudrow went on to criticize how the film had used digital de-aging, having the cast go through several periods.
In a show of apprehension, the actress from Friends pointed out that the movie-makers had filmed a scene, and they planned to review their earlier performance on playback. This footage was intended for them to view.
Furthermore, Kudrow expressed additional concerns by noting that the movie seemed to promote artificial intelligence extensively, all while stirring up a sense of unease.
“It’s not as if everything is going to be destroyed, but there won’t be much left. We should consider the young and rising talents in the industry too; they might just be reusing and repackaging content.
Afterward, the actress pondered about the remaining prospects for humanity, wondering if there would still be opportunities for employment in the future.
“How can it possibly be enough?” the Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion actress stated.
Earlier on, Tom Hanks, known for his role in the movie “Here,” similarly touched upon the subject of technological progression. He proposed a concept where he would produce a sequence of films featuring a more aged version of himself playing the lead roles.
Using artificial intelligence (AI) or deepfake technology, individuals now have the ability to create a digital version of themselves at any given age, as Hanks pointed out.
Once again, I’m thrilled to be part of another remarkable joint effort by the talented duo, Robert Zemeckis and Tom Hanks, who have captivated generations with their exceptional films like Forrest Gump, Cast Away, and many others.
The movie delves into several households and their cherished hideaway, a location that serves as their home across different generations. This narrative, derived from the graphic novel by Richard McGuire, guides viewers through various time periods.
