As an ardent fan who followed Autumn Crittendon’s journey since her days on 16 & Pregnant, I am left devastated by the news of her untimely demise. The vibrant spirit and unwavering love she showed towards her children, etched in my memory as a perfect mother, was truly captivating. Her life may have been cut short, but her legacy will forever live on through the cherished moments captured on screen.
It’s now been revealed that Autumn Crittendon, a star on 16 & Pregnant, passed away three months ago due to an overdose involving the synthetic opioids fentanyl and para/meta-fluorofentanyl. This information was disclosed by a representative from the Virginia Department of Health’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on October 22nd.
She died accidentally on July 20. The Henrico County Police responded to a report of an unresponsive female, only to find her deceased at a residence in Sandston, Virginia. Doctors transported her to the hospital, but she was already dead, having succumbed to the effects of delayed medical intervention. She was 27 years old.
Following her passing, Misty decided to post on Facebook, sharing an old picture of them together and using the hashtags #JusticeforAutumn and #CrittendonStrong. Tiffany Oxley, Crittendon’s mother-in-law, also shared her sorrow on Facebook, posting a touching message on July 22, mere days after Autumn’s death.
In a heartfelt manner, Oxley expressed her sadness at the untimely loss of Autumn. It was Oxley’s firm belief that Autumn had been taken away far too early. On social media, Oxley was an active participant and frequently liked posts showcasing Crittendon with her kids.
In January 2023, she shared a picture of Autumn along with her kids, expressing admiration by captioning it, “Check out that extraordinary woman surrounded by her finest young gentlemen and a lovely little girl.
Additionally, MTV’s Teen Mom reality show paid tribute to Crittendon by posting a heartfelt message in her memory. In this message, they conveyed deep sorrow and sent their prayers to her family and close friends during this difficult time.
The statement read, “We are deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Autumn Crittendon. Our hearts go out to her family and friends during this difficult time.”
As an ardent admirer looking back, I can’t help but reminisce about Crittendon’s journey during season 5 of MTV’s “16 And Pregnant.” At that time, she was eagerly awaiting the birth of her firstborn son, Drake. Life took an unexpected turn as she went on to have three beautiful children – two sons and a daughter. However, Crittendon’s heartbreaking story has left an indelible mark on many hearts, including mine and those close to her family. Yet, amidst the sorrow, we cherish the memories of meeting her on “16 & Pregnant,” primarily recalling her as the epitome of motherhood at its finest.
