For nearly eight years, Bethesda has been hinting at the release of Elder Scrolls 6, yet we’re still in the dark about its potential release date and key details. The studio remains tight-lipped regarding both the timing and the specifics of the game.
Longtime enthusiasts of the series have no doubt that the gameplay and story structure in The Elder Scrolls 6 will adhere to a familiar pattern. Yet, if Bethesda and Todd Howard aspire to reach unprecedented levels, they might want to draw inspiration from one modded Skyrim boss fight that echoes the challenge found in Soulslike games!
Elder Scrolls 6 must learn from modded Skyrim boss battle
14 years have passed since the debut of Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, but its popularity remains unwavering. This enduring success is largely due to the exceptional modding community, who continually create and update mods that enhance and expand the game’s content, offering an experience that can captivate players for years on end.
For several years now, there have been countless Skyrim mods that take the gaming experience to unprecedented heights. The creativity shown by a select few always leaves us in awe. On the official Elder Scrolls subreddit, one player has shared a video of an astounding boss fight mod that resembles a battle from a Soulslike game.

As an ardent fan, I can’t help but express my hope that Howard and his team at Bethesda might draw inspiration from this mod, leading to epic battles becoming a part of Elder Scrolls 6. Frankly, it’s high time they venture beyond conventional gameplay and offer innovative ways for players to outsmart their enemies in the next installment.
Elder Scrolls 6 must improve this one feature
One captivating aspect of gameplay in Skyrim revolved around companions – non-player characters that could be enlisted to accompany players on their adventures. The game provided several companions, and they could be incorporated into the party via various means such as defeating them, hiring them, or even completing tasks for them.
Players have often expressed that the follower system in Skyrim seemed rather shallow compared to games like Baldur’s Gate and Dragon Age. In these latter games, each companion possesses a rich character depth and distinct personality traits. Conversely, the followers in Skyrim are generally seen as one-dimensional and uninteresting.
In the game Skyrim, most of the followers lack complexity. They have little or no backstory, driving force, and there’s minimal interaction between them, the player, and the game environment.
Taking into account the lackluster nature of this aspect, Bethesda could enhance follower engagement in The Elder Scrolls 6. This can be achieved by providing companions with more conversations, interactions, and distinct personalities.
