It’s clear as day that Amanda Seyfried consistently delights her audience and social media followers with outstanding performances on-screen. Whether she’s playing a humorous character or one that appears incredibly innocent, her acting range is truly impressive – something that even caught the attention of James Gunn for a unique role.
More recently, Amanda Seyfried discussed her past encounter with Marvel Studios during an interview on Happy Sad Confused podcast. She revealed that she had a conversation with director James Gunn and was presented with the opportunity to portray Gamora, Thanos’s daughter, in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Instead, she declined the proposal since the actress expressed apprehension about being confined and having her appearance altered extensively due to the extensive time required for it.
Speaking enthusiastically about the prospect, Amanda Seyfried shared that even though James Gunn claims not to recall encountering her, she was indeed offered the role and pondered it for a few days.
After learning that she would have to stay in London for six months due to the film, the actress who starred in Mamma Mia! expressed her reluctance about taking on the movie. Instead, she seized the chance offered by Seth MacFarlane for his project titled A Million Ways to Die in the West, finding it an appealing opportunity.
It’s worth noting that being involved in a flop of the first Marvel film could potentially harm one’s career,” Amanda Seyfried noted.
Speaking further on the topic, the actress involved in “In Time” explained that given the film’s storyline featuring a chatty tree and a conversational raccoon, she initially believed her and Chris Pratt’s acting careers might be permanently stalled as a result.
Ultimately, the part was taken up by actress Zoe Saldana, who played the character in multiple Marvel Cinematic Universe films, such as the highly acclaimed Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
