Actor Stephen Amell, best known for his role on Suits: L.A., shared insights about Harvey Specter’s involvement with the upcoming spinoff series. The original Suits star, Gabriel Macht, who portrayed Specter, is slated to reappear in the forthcoming episodes, expected to premiere in the coming year.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Amell shared some insights into what viewers can anticipate from the series, as well as Harvey’s significant role in solving the cases.
During an interview with the media outlet, the actor disclosed that his character, Ted Black, and Harvey are old friends from their childhood in the series. Amell explained, “Take a close look at the picture behind my desk; it shows a young Ted Black alongside what appears to be a young Harvey Specter [played by Gabriel Macht], suggesting a deep-rooted connection between the characters.
Speaking as someone who shares a history with him in the D.A.’s office, I expressed my thoughts, “If there’s anyone from our original cast returning, it should ideally be Gabriel. I genuinely hope this occurs because I am an avid admirer of his character, and I believe the audience would greatly appreciate the unique dynamic he brings.
Earlier, on his Instagram, Macht posted a video revealing his character, accompanied by the following caption: “When an old acquaintance requires help… it’s the perfect moment to set things straight and handle them properly.
In the video, the actor donned his character’s outfit by fastening his sleeves with “HS” written on them, and the shoes he wore bore his on-screen initials too. As per recent news updates, it is confirmed that Macht will appear as a recurring guest character in the series.
In addition to what he said earlier, Amell also shared that he finds joy in the prospect of working with the original cast again, as he understands the excitement that comes with revisiting past projects. Last year, the actor reprised his Arrow character within the final season of The Flash.
Besides Macht, other Suits cast members like Patrick J. Adams and Sarah Rafferty were also considered for the project, but they ultimately chose not to accept the proposal.
Suits L.A. will air from February 23, 2025, on NBC.
