The accident resulted in Burford sustaining grave facial wounds, necessitating a three-hour operation. Mortensen stated that Joey had undergone surgery to mend broken facial bones earlier. “We’re fortunate he’s still among us,” she expressed, expressing gratitude that his injuries weren’t more severe and could have potentially resulted in a broken neck or spine.
