As a devoted admirer of both music and the art of storytelling, I find myself deeply moved by Ariana Grande‘s journey into portraying Glinda in the upcoming Wicked film. Her ability to channel her personal experiences, particularly the loss of loved ones, into her performance adds a layer of emotional depth that promises to captivate audiences.
The upcoming film “Wicked,” featuring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, has been generating a lot of excitement online. As the movie’s premiere draws closer, Grande has shared that she has infused her own emotions into the role of Glinda, a character she will portray on the big screen.
During an interview with the BBC News, the actress revealed that the loss of a dear one had given her a deeper understanding and emotional depth to play her character convincingly.
In the musical “Wicked,” Ariana Grande, Malcolm Erivo, Jeff Goldblum, Ethan Slater, Jonathan Bailey, and Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh will all appear together on screen.
During an interview with the news outlet, the multi-talented individual expressed that everyone has encountered the heartache of losing a loved one – sometimes we are fortunate enough to bid farewell, but not always.
Simultaneously, in her private world, Grande endured significant hardships that have left an indelible mark on her. Back in 2017, the performer was luckily rescued following a bomb explosion at her Manchester concert.
During her recovery period following the incident, Mac Miller tragically passed away about a year afterwards, with him being her boyfriend at that time.
Besides infusing her unique flair into the character, Grande shared that playing Glinda had long been a cherished aspiration of hers, sparked by watching the Broadway musical as a young girl.
The Swindle actress claimed it was a “homecoming experience” for her to be on the sets of Wicked.
In conversation with the media outlet, the 25-year-old expressed, “Listening to this music has been so soothing throughout my life, and having the opportunity to engage with it and be entrusted with it feels like an unparalleled honor.
Additionally, she shared insights about her time collaborating with Cynthia Erivo. The actress disclosed that from the instant they were both selected for the project, Cynthia welcomed her over, and they spent an enjoyable five hours together, laughing, crying, and building a connection.
She also mentioned that from the very beginning, we discussed establishing a secure environment for one another and always being truthful with each other.
In a nutshell, “Wicked” is about an extraordinary friendship between Glinda and Elphaba that faces trials when the Wizard of Oz enters the scene. The film is set to premiere in cinemas on November 22.
