In an interview with Variety (on January 10), The Weeknd expressed his pride in the series, stating “I’m really proud of it – we all are.” He praised the cast and crew as exceptional, forging new friendships with some truly remarkable individuals. His joy stemmed from witnessing everyone flourish on set.

Reflecting on the past event, the lead singer of Lost In The Fire admitted that it wasn’t luckier when the performance didn’t receive a positive reception. However, they were conscious of the fact that what they were crafting was “something thought-provoking and ominous.

The Weeknd added, “Perhaps it could’ve been presented differently, or maybe not. It turned out to be bigger than I anticipated, but not everything we share will always resonate, and that’s alright.

He acknowledged that the backslash had an impact on him but clarified he didn’t let it affect him emotionally, saying “I didn’t take it personally.” He further explained, “I enjoy reading criticism, even when some of it didn’t seem particularly helpful or constructive.

Apart from discussing other topics, he mentioned his upcoming album, “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” which is scheduled for release on the 24th of January. Interestingly, the musician expressed that he doesn’t anticipate everyone to love this new work.

On weekends, he expressed that while some people might dislike it, his actions aren’t driven by their opinions – rather, he identifies as an artist, and this is simply the way he chooses to express himself.
