As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to point out that M. Night Shyamalan isn’t typically known for including post-credit scenes in his films, but he has done so on three occasions. The first instance was in Split (2016), which cleverly tied into his earlier film Unbreakable and paved the way for Glass (2019). More recently, in Knock at the Cabin (2023), he presented a subtle audio tease, marking the second time he’s opted to include such an element.

As a die-hard fan, I recently stumbled upon an intriguing tidbit about the mid-credits scene in Trap that left me utterly captivated. Contrary to popular belief, it wasn’t part of the original script! M. Night Shyamalan, the mastermind behind this mind-bending film, conjured up the idea on set during a conversation with Jonathan Longdon. He felt compelled to bring Jamie’s genuine response to Cooper’s true identity to life for our viewing pleasure.

Is there a sequel in the works?

Although the post-credit sequence doesn’t explicitly promise a follow-up, it leaves room for one. Essentially, whether we’ll see more of Trap or not largely hinges on its performance at the box office and among viewers.

Before the extra scene at the end, the movie Trap concludes as Cooper manages to free himself from his restraints using a bicycle spoke after being apprehended by the FBI. His wife, Rachel, assists in his arrest but cleverly drugs him through his pie first. However, the resourceful Cooper then uses the spokes to break free from his handcuffs within the van. In the final moments, Cooper gives an unsettling glance, hinting that his saga may continue.

A look at the plot of the movie

In the film, events unfold as Cooper accompanies his younger daughter, Riley, to Lady Raven’s performance. However, he soon learns that this performance isn’t just an ordinary show – it’s actually a trap set by the FBI to apprehend someone known as The Butcher. A shocking revelation comes when he recognizes that “The Butcher” is none other than himself. To avoid capture and protect Riley, he must find a way to escape from this concert venue without endangering his daughter. It’s worth noting that Lady Raven plays a significant role in the movie, not merely serving as a background character.

Indeed, she’s informed about the FBI operation and is present to aid in the arrest of Cooper. Once he becomes aware of this, he menaces Lady Raven, his captive, threatening her if she doesn’t facilitate his escape. However, Lady Raven is not as unsophisticated as Cooper presumes. Instead, she employs her influence to reverse the situation on him.

In a surprising turn of events, I found myself slipping away, only to return to my familiar abode. Yet, my wife Rachel was always one step ahead; she had foreseen this, and it was her assistance that ultimately led to my apprehension by the FBI.
