As an ardent fan of Travis Scott, I’ve always admired his raw talent and the electrifying energy he brings to his performances. However, it seems like the star’s off-stage antics are starting to overshadow his incredible music career. It’s a bit disheartening to see such a dynamic personality getting entangled in legal issues so frequently.
On Friday morning, American rapper Travis Scott found himself in custody following a physical dispute with his bodyguard at Paris’s George V hotel. This incident transpired around 5 a.m. local time, which corresponded to 11 p.m. ET on Thursday as reported by CNN. The altercation took place during Scott’s stay in the city for the Olympics. French authorities dispatched police officers to quell the fight.
Scott was later apprehended for instigating violence towards a security personnel, as stated by a police spokesperson. It was further explained by the Paris prosecutor that this arrest stemmed from an instance of violence directed at a security guard who intervened in Scott’s dispute with his personal bodyguard. Investigations regarding the incident have now been initiated.
In relation to a prior legal matter he encountered about a month back, Scott was taken into custody in Paris recently. On June 20th, during the early hours of Thursday, the rapper, who is also known as Jacques Bermon Webster II, was apprehended in Miami Beach for charges including trespassing and being intoxicated in a disorderly manner. The arrest took place around 4:35 a.m. at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Scott managed to post a $500 bond for the trespassing charge and an additional $150 for the disorderly conduct offense.
As stated in a police report, it was alleged that Scott was part of an incident on a boat, leading to a clash with law enforcement officials. Upon their arrival, the officers discovered Scott near the dock, shouting at those aboard the ship. Despite being instructed to sit down, Scott persistently stood up and disregarded the orders given by the officers.
The police officer from Miami Beach, Sergeant Lemus, warned Scott to depart from the pier or risk getting arrested. Scott initially followed the order but soon came back and continued causing a ruckus. This disturbance disturbed the peace in public. When asked about his drinking, Scott reportedly responded with “It’s Miami” and acknowledged consuming alcohol.
Travis Scott, a renowned musician, boasts four number-one hits and more than a hundred songs on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. He shares two children with Kylie Jenner, a widely recognized influencer who hails from the Kardashian clan. Additionally, he has been nominated for ten Grammy Awards and has sold approximately 49 million certified albums.
It seems that the legal troubles he’s facing aren’t entirely fresh. Back in November 2021, a devastating crowd surge at his Astroworld concert in Houston led to ten deaths and over 300 injuries. This event ignited numerous lawsuits, with some alleging his negligence. However, he maintains no responsibility for the tragedy, and many of the wrongful death suits have been settled.
