Wendy Williams’ Brother Advocates for His Sister to Be Let ‘Out’ Amid Guardianship Battle, Claiming She Is ‘in Great Shape’

Tommy Williams, Wendy Williams‘ brother, has spoken up to ease concerns among her fans, confirming that she remains in good spirits despite the ongoing legal and personal challenges she faces. He shared insights about Wendy’s health, noting that at 60 years old, she exhibits a resilience far greater than what media headlines suggest in recent days.

According to Tommy, she’s both mentally and physically fit, as he expressed to Us Weekly on March 12. He further mentioned, “Give her some space.”

Wendy continues to reside in an assisted living home in New York City under a court-assigned guardianship since 2022, following her diagnosis with frontotemporal dementia in 2024. Despite expressing dissatisfaction with her situation, including referring to the facility as a “prison,” her brother insists that she is managing well.

Over the past few months, I’ve been actively working on regaining control of my life. I made the bold decision to part ways with my court-assigned lawyer and initiated the process to dismiss Sabrina Morrissey as my guardian. This move came shortly after a heartfelt plea for assistance that I shared through a note given to the paparazzi, which subsequently prompted a police wellness check. Following this event, I was temporarily hospitalized for a psychiatric evaluation, a process I successfully navigated with flying colors.

Tommy shared with the media, “Wendy now has a sense of direction and comprehension of her capabilities – both functional and cognitive. This is a significant victory for her. Remarkably, she accomplished this on her own. It’s also indicative that she handles her thoughts and actions smoothly.

Ginalia Monterrosa, a friend of Wendy’s, stated that she believes it’s wrong and unfair, and they are making this clear to the public. Furthermore, she emphasized that Wendy doesn’t require a guardianship as she is not incapacitated, and she will persist in expressing her views.

After the assessment, pictures emerged of Wendy Williams enjoying a meal at a restaurant in New York City, according to Page Six. Despite the ongoing legal battle over her guardianship, Wendy’s brother asserted that she is in high spirits, resilient, and eager to regain control of her life.
