After his wife, author Jillian Lauren Shriner, was involved in a violent event in LA and charged with attempted murder by the police, Weezer’s bassist, Scott Shriner, spoke up for the first time. Despite the severe accusations, he gave a positive statement during a walk with his dogs and still shared enthusiasm about Weezer’s upcoming performance at Coachella.
On a Thursday, Scott, aged 59, was seen strolling his quartet of canines in his Eagle Rock residential area. He momentarily conversed with The Post, expressing, “She’s doing well, thanks for asking. I’ll see you at Coachella!
With a proud bearing, Scott swiftly made his way back to his residence following the encounter. Earlier in the week, Weezer took to Instagram to share that they would be appearing on Coachella’s Mojave Stage during the festival’s first weekend, expressing excitement with, “A desert surprise (cactus emoji), see you at @coachella on the Mojave stage next Saturday @ 3:10.
Currently, the circumstances involving Jillian are quite grave. As reported by Page Six, based on a police press release, the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a hit-and-run incident on Tuesday. Near the Shriners’ residence, three suspects are said to have fled on foot when the authorities arrived. Officers apparently found Jillian, aged 51, outside with a handgun. Despite repeated orders to drop the weapon and pointing it at the officers, Jillian was shot. She then retreated into the house but eventually re-emerged and was taken into custody.
It’s worth mentioning that Jillian, an author famed for ‘Behold the Monster’, was arrested for attempted murder and was taken to a hospital due to injuries that are not critical in nature. Before this event occurred, she had openly discussed her recent cancer diagnosis and surgery. Jillian has been married to Scott since 2005, and together they have two adopted children.
It’s uncertain if Jillian can make it to Coachella to support Scott, as he appears dedicated to fulfilling his band’s obligations. For the time being, he seems to be putting all his efforts into the music while his wife navigates through her challenging legal issues.
