The second season of Wednesday concluded with Wednesday embarking on a quest to find her werewolf friend, Enid. However, the biggest surprise came when it was revealed that Grandmama had been secretly holding Aunt Ophelia captive in a strange basement. Even more disturbingly, Ophelia wrote a message on the wall saying Wednesday needs to die. It seems the Frump family has endless secrets! Fortunately, Wednesday has been renewed for a third season, and Variety reports that Eva Green will be joining the cast as Ophelia.
The casting is fantastic! It also puts an end to speculation that Lady Gaga would be playing Aunt Ophelia. Jamie Green, who will play the role, said in a statement, “I’m so excited to be part of the wonderfully strange world of Wednesday. It’s a darkly funny show, and I can’t wait to bring a little bit of quirky energy to the Addams family.”
We’re hoping season three of Wednesday arrives sooner rather than later, but even if it takes a while, we’re really excited to see Eva Green play Aunt Ophelia!
