2025 sees the arrival of the second season of Netflix’s popular series “Wednesday”! The filming concluded in Ireland not long ago, and we can expect its return towards the end of this year. Although we have a good idea about what’s to come, there are some fresh faces joining the cast, as officially announced.
During the winter vacation, additional information about secondary and tertiary characters came to light. The roster of performers is growing, as multiple new actors are set to team up with Jenna Ortega and the rest of the production crew.
Currently, Netflix is stepping up their promotional efforts for the upcoming season, but there hasn’t been an announced release date as of now. Interestingly, a brief preview was showcased during the NFL games that took place on Christmas Day.
In the latest update, it has been confirmed that Liv Spencer, recognized from KAOS and Knightfall, will take on the role of Varicose. Neri Zaccardelli enters the scene as Stassa, with Andrew Macklin, famous for Doctor Who, set to play Gregg Mulligan. Additionally, Kerry Shale, best known for The Sandman, has signed up as Gabe Packard, and Megan Elle Day is scheduled to make an appearance in episodes 3 and 4 as Jennifer Tessbaum.
Moreover, Derek Miller and Clare Gavin will be joining the upcoming series. Derek will portray the character Dwayne, while details about Clare’s role are being kept secret. Notably, Gracy Goldman reprises her role as Gabrielle Barclay for four episodes following her debut in season 1.
Not only that, but some well-known faces are set to make an appearance in Season 2 of Wednesday. Steve Buscemi has been cast as the new principal, while Billie Piper is slated to play Capri, a music teacher. Evie Templeton and Owen Painter will step into the roles of Annie and Karloff respectively.
In addition, you’ll find Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley portraying Grandmama, and Thandiwe Newton as Dr. Fairburn. Some other notable additions to the cast are Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Philip Philmar, among others.
The first four episode titles have been unveiled, and they are: ‘Here We Woe Again’, ‘If Woes Could Speak’, ‘The Devil’s Woe’, and ‘The Grand Outwitting’. The new season begins with ‘Here We Woe Again’, followed by ‘If Woes Could Speak’, then ‘The Devil’s Woe’, and finally ‘The Grand Outwitting’. Writers Alfred Gough, Miles Millar, Matt Lambert, Valentina Garza, and Lauren Otero have returned to pen the episodes.
Interestingly, Tim Burton and Paco Cabezas, renowned for his work on shows like The Umbrella Academy and Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, will jointly take up the director’s role in an unusual collaboration.
