The Netflix series “Wednesday,” starring Jenna Ortega, will be making its return to our screens shortly, gracing us with Wednesday Addams this summer. Given that Thing had to include sunscreen in her bag, we can only assume it’s going to be a sunny day for our favorite gothic girl. However, unlike last season, “Wednesday” won’t return in its entirety; instead, season two will be arriving… piece by piece. This seems fitting somehow. The upcoming eight-episode season will be released in installments of four. This should provide the perfect dose of eeriness to help usher in the Halloween season. The trailer for “Wednesday”‘s second season is quite impressive. It effectively encapsulates the horror-comedy charm we enjoyed from the first season and takes it to a higher level.
You can watch Wednesday season two’s first trailer below.
In a more straightforward way, we could say: The season two trailer hints at Wednesday’s preferences, which include murder, chaos, and eerie dolls with real hair. As an unusual way to express her feelings, this seems fitting for Wednesday. We’re excited to see her bond with “roommate” Enid Sinclair taking center stage in the Wednesday season two sneak peek, as it is one of our favorite relationships from the series.
Alongside Wednesday, we reconnect with the entire Addams clan in this sneak peek. This includes Wednesday’s younger brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez), who will be attending Nevermore Academy alongside her this year. Not to forget Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Gomez Addams (Luis Guzmán). In season two, we welcome Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley), who portrays Wednesday’s grandmother and Morticia’s mother. It’s a family gathering indeed. Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen) returns to the picture as well, adding to our delight.
As a dedicated cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that Alfred Gough, the mastermind behind ‘Wednesday’, has given us an exciting update on season two! He mentioned, “In season one, we delved deep into Wednesday’s world, yet glimpsed other characters whose stories remained untold. Now, in season two, we’re diving deeper, exploring their narratives and broadening the horizons of our beloved series.
Tim Burton expresses, “Your school family is the absolute worst, isn’t it? I always disliked my parents going to school. Wednesday is an even more intense portrayal of that feeling. Poor Pugsley, he’s something of a misfit among misfits, which makes me empathize with him. He first steps into Nevermore, allowing us to witness his school life. Each character has their unique abilities, and he’s still discovering his own. He’s simply beginning to understand his new adolescent powers.” And these powers seem to be developing in the trailer for Wednesday season two.
When it comes to the second season of “Wednesday”, when can we expect it to premiere? The release dates for parts 1 and 2 are set respectively for August 6, 2025, and September 3, 2025.
Anticipation runs high as we eagerly look forward to the comeback of our beloved ghost! While waiting, why not dive into season one, which is available on Netflix for streaming?
