The ongoing and very public disagreement between Brooklyn Beckham and his family has taken an unexpected twist.
Among the many surprising accusations Brooklyn Beckham made about his parents this week, one was particularly embarrassing and a clear break from wedding traditions. He said his mother, Victoria Beckham, interrupted his first dance with his wife, Nicola Peltz.

People have been discussing whether Brooklyn’s story is true, but now someone has come forward to confirm it.
A family friend told the Daily Mail that the awkward incident really did occur. Stavros Agapiou, who is the partner of DJ Fat Tony, also shared his thoughts on the situation through social media.
DJ Fat Tony has been friends with the Beckhams for years and even played music at their wedding, making him a close insider. He recently confirmed Brooklyn Beckham’s account of a story in an Instagram comment that has since been removed. Agapiou wrote, “I was there and she did, he’s telling the truth,” backing up the 26-year-old’s version of events.
He went on to express support for his son, saying, “It’s great that he’s finally talking about it!” This is important because the comment comes from someone who was there and knows the family well, which suggests the situation is starting to look more favorable for Brooklyn as people begin to believe his side of the story.
Brooklyn described a particularly upsetting moment in his recent statement. He explained that he and his wife were getting ready for a special, intimate moment when his mother unexpectedly interrupted. He said that singer Marc Anthony invited him onstage, seemingly for their first dance as a married couple.
Honestly, it was a total shock. I was expecting to dance with Nicola at our wedding, but then Marc Anthony called me up on stage. Apparently, there was supposed to be this romantic dance with my wife, but instead, my mum was waiting for me! It went from confusing to just really awkward, really fast. It was a pretty uncomfortable situation in front of all 500 of our guests.
Brooklyn explained that the dance felt like a violation of a loving, family boundary. He said, “She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone.” This moment was deeply upsetting and significantly impacted what should have been a joyful occasion, leaving him with lasting emotional pain.
He said he’d never felt so uncomfortable or humiliated. The experience was so upsetting that Brooklyn and Nicola are planning a completely new ceremony to replace the bad memories. He explained they want to renew their vows to create joyful wedding memories, instead of ones filled with anxiety and embarrassment.
As a film buff, I love a good backstory, and this whole situation with Victoria and Nicola is starting to feel like one! For ages, there have been whispers of a feud, and this new detail really sheds light on why. It started with talk about Nicola’s wedding dress – apparently, she went with Valentino because Victoria couldn’t deliver what she wanted. But now, hearing that their first dance was… awkward, makes me think the tension wasn’t just behind the scenes, it was actually there on their big day. It really paints a picture of a strained atmosphere.
Brooklyn Beckham has been working to establish himself outside of the fame of his parents. He first tried his hand at photography, even publishing a book called What I See, but has since turned his attention to cooking. He created a web series, Cookin’ with Brooklyn, where he cooked for celebrities, and regularly posts cooking videos online.
Nicola Peltz Beckham is a successful actress and director, and comes from the wealthy Peltz family. She became well-known for playing Bradley Martin on the popular TV show Bates Motel. She’s also appeared in the big-budget movie Transformers: Age of Extinction and the romantic comedy Holidate.
Nicola recently directed her first film, the independent drama Lola, which she also wrote and acted in. This was a major turning point in her career, allowing her to take on a creative leadership role. Throughout recent family difficulties, she’s been a strong and public supporter of her husband, frequently sharing messages of encouragement online.
Let us know in the comments whether you believe a mother-son dance should ever happen before the bride and groom’s first dance, or if this situation was a significant violation of wedding customs.
