‘We Were All So F***ing Tired’: Kit Harington REVEALS Why Game Of Thrones Final Season Was Rushed

As a dedicated fan who has followed Game of Thrones since its inception, I must admit that the final season left me feeling a bit underwhelmed, just like Kit Harrington himself. It’s heartbreaking to see an iconic character like Jon Snow, played by such a talented actor as Kit, end up in such a rushed and exhausting way.

Fans of the TV series Game of Thrones were greatly disappointed by its final season, a sentiment echoed recently by Kit Harrington, who portrayed the beloved character Jon Snow. Harrington shared his thoughts on the dissatisfying season and explained that the timeline had to be hurried due to various reasons.

For eight years, the actor had a bitter-sweet experience working on HBO’s globally-dominated show. Not only did he attain fame, but he also met co-star and now wife Rose Leslie, for which he’ll forever be indebted.

Instead, he found himself a constant topic for internet humor; people would yell “you know nothing” at him in public, and he was compelled to keep his famous long, curly hair even as he yearned to leave the role behind.

As a die-hard fanboy speaking to GQ, I can’t help but share my thoughts about Game of Thrones. Reflecting back, I believe the only flaw in its finale was our unyielding fatigue. We had been breathing life into our characters for over eight years, and it seemed as though we were drained beyond repair. In all honesty, if there had been any more seasons, I’m not sure we could have kept going.

Despite acknowledging that some viewers felt the last season seemed hurried, he conceded that there were no other options available. Reflecting on photos from the final season, he confessed, “I look drained, I look depleted. I didn’t have the energy for another season.”

Regarding the criticism, particularly evident in the final episode, he admitted there were narrative errors near the end and certain daring, intriguing decisions didn’t pan out as planned. Yet, it’s important to remember that everyone has a right to their own perspective.

The actor known for playing The Eternals was excited to branch out from his Jon Snow role, but a Snow spin-off show was unexpectedly announced by HBO, and later shelved.

The representative from HBO approached me with an idea, asking, “Would you be interested in this?” Initially, I declined. However, I began contemplating the potential for a compelling and significant narrative about a soldier post-war. He then shared this account with the media outlet. After investing two years in crafting a story, they were unable to find one that was satisfying.

As a devoted fan, I found myself stepping back, expressing my concerns in a humble manner: “If we delve deeper and continue to refine it, there’s a risk we might create something less than stellar. And that’s the last thing any of us aspire to achieve.” This is what Harrington shared with us.

The actor has just become part of the ensemble for HBO’s popular show “Industry,” that can be watched online via Max and Jio Cinema streaming platforms.
