1. Hatchet and Chains: Demon Bounty Hunters

Combining demons with an Old West theme is a fun idea, and Universal Orlando’s 2025 Hatchet and Chains House delivered on that promise. We particularly enjoyed the terrifying demonic horse! However, compared to other haunted houses at the event-especially the original ones-this house felt less imaginative. The scares lacked a strong storyline and felt a bit random, which lessened the overall immersive experience. While we enjoyed it, it wasn’t a standout, and we ranked it lower than other houses at Halloween Horror Nights.
Grave of Flesh

I’m honestly a little surprised Grave of Flesh isn’t ranked higher on my list for Halloween Horror Nights 2025 at Universal Orlando. I really enjoyed it while I was experiencing it. The house cleverly puts you in the position of attending your own funeral, only to discover that flesh-eating creatures inhabit the afterlife. I especially liked how immersive the house felt – looking up, you could see the sky through a coffin-shaped opening, making it seem like you were being lowered into the ground. And the smell of dirt and decay was everywhere! It had a consistently creepy, muddy atmosphere, but also used mold and grime in a surprisingly artistic way.
This year’s haunted house relied heavily on startling jump scares with impressively creepy creatures, many featuring sharp teeth and tangled vines. The final monster, who laughs maniacally while his helpers try to grab you, was a particularly memorable sight. Even though we enjoyed it, the high quality of all the Halloween Horror Nights houses meant this one ranked lower on our list.
WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks
Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights 2025: WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks
— Rotem Rusak (@Moondancer1626) September 17, 2025
This year’s Halloween Horror Nights house is a tribute to WWE superstar Windham Rotunda, known as Bray Wyatt. Wyatt was a huge fan of horror and a frequent visitor to Halloween Horror Nights. Though he passed away before it was completed, Universal Orlando collaborated with WWE to create a house that truly honored his legacy and the Wyatt Family.
While I don’t follow wrestling, it was obvious this haunted house was a huge hit with fans. Guests get to walk onto the actual Monday Night Raw set – something those familiar with the show found incredibly exciting – and then enter a scary, otherworldly place filled with monstrous creatures and chaos. The house is inspired by the disturbing backstory of Bray Wyatt’s brother and his group, the Wyatt Sicks – a creepy collection of characters from a children’s show gone wrong, including a witch, a buzzard, a rabbit, and a pig. And, of course, Wyatt’s infamous character, The Fiend, is there, urging you to “Let him in!” – pretty frightening!
The haunted house experience included heartfelt moments meant to connect with fans who admired Bray Wyatt, alongside the typical thrills and chills. Wyatt famously referred to his fans as “fireflies” and often used a lantern as a symbol of his group, the Wyatt Family – imagery that was heavily featured throughout the house. Because Halloween Horror Nights houses are usually very dark, the clever use of light was particularly effective. Even though I wasn’t a huge fan of Wyatt myself, I found the sight of an empty rocking chair with a single lantern, surrounded by twinkling lights representing his ‘fireflies,’ quite moving.
Fallout

Let me tell you what I think about the *Fallout* house at Universal Orlando’s 2025 Halloween Horror Nights… It was fantastic! I’m a huge fan of the *Fallout* series on Prime Video – it’s clever, realistic, and completely captivating. The acting is superb, and the characters develop in a really believable way. The house perfectly captures that same world. If you love the show as much as I do and want to experience its dangerous, post-apocalyptic setting and relive some of your favorite scenes, you’re going to enjoy this house a lot.
Okay, so I just experienced the *Fallout* Halloween Horror Nights house, and honestly, if you haven’t seen the Prime Video show – seriously, what are you waiting for?! – some of the impact might be lost. It felt more like a really detailed recreation of scenes *from* the series than a genuinely scary, atmospheric experience. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t *not* scary, but it leaned heavily into being an immersive walk-through of the show’s best moments. That said, it’s still an incredibly cool house – I mean, come on, it features The Ghoul! You can’t beat that.
Dolls: Let’s Play Dead

— Rotem Rusak (@Moondancer1626) September 18, 2025
I really loved ‘Dolls: Let’s Play Dead’ at Halloween Horror Nights! It’s surprisingly only halfway through my ranking of the houses this year. The theme revolves around a disturbed girl who’s been destroying her toys and reassembling them into scary, monstrous creations. A clever trick of the house is making *you* feel tiny, like one of the dolls, making you an easy target for the haunted toys. I’d describe it as a delightfully creepy mix of *Barbie* and *M3GAN* – a truly creative and terrifying experience.
One room features a massive spider made of yarn, trapping dolls in creepy, cocoon-like webs and looming over them. It’s a delightfully disturbing scene – like a craft project gone spectacularly wrong! The dolls themselves are incredibly unsettling, with melted faces and broken bodies, making this one of the most effectively horrifying displays at Halloween Horror Nights. The house also makes excellent use of screens to enhance the experience. Overall, it’s a fun and twisted take on something normally innocent and cheerful.
Jason Universe

— Rotem Rusak (@Moondancer1626) September 18, 2025
The haunted house based on the *Friday the 13th* films is absolutely non-stop terror. Once Jason Voorhees starts after you, he just keeps coming! There’s a particularly intense section where you walk down a long, dark hallway and Jason appears repeatedly, slashing with his knife, for what feels like a full minute – a real onslaught of Jasons. What’s really cool is that it’s not just one Jason; the house features different versions of him from throughout the entire *Friday the 13th* series. It’s a fantastic tribute for horror fans like us, and we especially loved spotting all the references and hidden details.
What’s really striking about this haunted house is how well it embodies Jason Voorhees’ terrifying presence. He feels far away one moment, then suddenly appears right in front of you – it’s incredibly startling! We’re also thrilled to have the legendary Pamela Voorhees included. She’ll be sure to share her thoughts on those troublesome camp counselors and what they deserve… if you dare to listen!
The only downside to this house is that it doesn’t magically transport you to outer space. It would have been amazing if it did!
Five Nights at Freddy’s

— Rotem Rusak (@Moondancer1626) September 18, 2025
As a huge movie fan, I have to say the *Five Nights at Freddy’s* haunted house is amazing. It totally immerses you in the world of the film, letting you experience everything up close. Honestly, it’s a bit scarier than the *Fallout* show’s house, though that’s just my opinion! But the real stars are the animatronics – they’re unbelievably realistic. They’re perfect, exact copies of what you see on screen, and the level of detail is just fantastic. It’s a really impressive creation.
It’s not surprising the animatronics look so realistic – Halloween Horror Nights teamed up with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop to create them! Guests can see life-sized versions of Freddy Fazbear, Chica, Bonnie, Foxy, and Mr. Cupcake. While all the animatronics are impressive, Mr. Cupcake really steals the show with its ability to quickly jump out and scare guests. Each one is a beautiful combination of traditional effects and clever technology.
As a huge fan, I have to say the *Five Nights at Freddy’s* house is incredible! They’ve really gone all out to make it look exactly like Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, both inside and out – it’s seriously immersive. It’s scary, stylish, and just plain awesome. That’s why, for me, the *Five Nights at Freddy’s* house is easily the best haunted house at Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights 2025!
Gálkn: Monsters of the North
Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights 2025: Gálkn: Monsters of the North
— Rotem Rusak (@Moondancer1626) September 18, 2025
Gálkn: Monsters of the North is a haunted house that I think is truly special, but might be overlooked. That’s why I want to highlight what makes it so good, especially for Halloween. It really captures the feeling of folk horror and ancient myths, making it a standout experience. With witches, wolves, bonfires, and the atmosphere of a coming winter, it creates the perfect spooky vibe for fall.
This house’s story begins with a small, isolated village that made a terrible mistake: they tried to kill a witch. Now, she’s returned from the dead, bringing a terrifying army of monsters and demons with her, intent on destroying the villagers. The house itself is a stunning and frightening place, a beautiful but brutal combination of fire and ice. Its scares are cleverly crafted, filled with both artistry and a chilling atmosphere, and you’ll feel truly haunted by the many watchful, terrifying eyes. Prepare to be amazed – and horrified – when you come face-to-face with the witch herself, now a colossal, monstrous figure with a gaping maw.
And yes, the haunted house actually features a mother monster who seemingly eats you! Talk about scary! I would have ranked ‘Gálkn: Monsters of the North’ as the best haunted house at Halloween Horror Nights, but two others were just slightly better.
Terrifier
Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights 2025: Terrifier
— Rotem Rusak (@Moondancer1626) September 19, 2025
The *Terrifier* haunted house was truly terrifying and unsettling. It was also the longest experience at Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights this year, lasting a full seven and a half minutes. Most other haunted houses took around four or five minutes to walk through, making *Terrifier* almost double the length – and a lot more frightening!
The Terrifier house at Halloween Horror Nights was particularly effective because it featured a well-known villain, a genuinely unsettling backstory, strong character presence, and… an incredibly long and disturbing bathroom scene. It’s a recipe for pure horror. My first time through was manageable, but the second time, the group ahead of me moved so slowly that I almost got sick during the bathroom sequence. It felt incredibly claustrophobic and went on forever. Seriously, it was terrifying!
The Haunted House also featured several characters based on Art the Clown, and they all captured his terrifying and malicious personality. Art was charismatic and unsettling, offering a disturbing mix of charm and horror – like offering bloody flowers and attempting to kiss your hand with a gruesome mouth. This really made the experience feel incredibly real. He seemed to be *everywhere*, jumping out from all sorts of hidden spots. I even saw him appear *in* a mirror, which completely fooled me before he suddenly sprang out!
As a horror fan, I have to tell you about something wild with the *Terrifier* screenings. Apparently, they’ve got this ‘splash zone’ in the final scene! It’s not like you’ll be *completely* drenched in fake blood, but… let’s just say you might want to consider where you’re sitting!
The Best Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights House of 2025: El Artista: A Spanish Haunting
Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights 2025: El Artista: A Spanish Haunting
— Rotem Rusak (@Moondancer1626) September 18, 2025
Halloween Horror Nights always features one standout haunted house, and this year, “El Artista: A Spanish Haunting” was truly exceptional. The house transported guests to 19th-century Spain, telling the story of a tormented artist whose remote estate and creations drive him towards madness, possession, and ultimately, death. “El Artista” was beautifully designed, filled with eerie paintings, radiant stained glass, and cascading wisteria.
The manor’s exterior is truly remarkable. According to show director Ramon Paradoa, they aimed to create a sense of awe and intimidation with its size. The goal was to immediately immerse visitors in the atmosphere, hinting at the ghostly experiences and the story of Sergio through visual cues like his open journal. And it works incredibly well.
Stepping into El Artista: A Spanish Haunting is like entering a classic gothic romance. Unlike many haunted houses at Halloween Horror Nights, this one doesn’t rely on disgusting smells. Instead, you’re greeted with the pleasant scents of flowers and aged books. The house, much like the artist Sergio, draws you in, almost inviting you to become a permanent part of its ghostly atmosphere.
El Artista doesn’t just rely on jump scares – it creates genuinely beautiful and unsettling moments. The artwork feels haunted, with lost spirits drifting around, and even a flying gargoyle! These are just some of the amazing frights you’ll encounter. You might even witness a ghost passing through a wall – a first for many at Halloween Horror Nights.
That concludes our list of haunted houses for Halloween Horror Nights 2025 at Universal Orlando. We hope it helps you enjoy a frighteningly fun experience! Tickets are on sale now.
