We get our first look at Menace’s aliens in a trailer by the Astartes creator in another Warhammer 40k connection

For players who enjoy strategic, turn-based battles, Menace is a game generating a lot of excitement right now. Created by the developers of Battle Brothers (Overhype Studios), it offers deep and challenging combat alongside a compelling strategic overview. The game’s style and gameplay draw inspiration from the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

Players find themselves isolated in a remote part of the galaxy, facing dangers from both humans and a terrifying alien threat known as the Menace. Until now, we’ve only seen glimpses of these creatures through descriptions and artwork, but a new trailer has finally revealed their gruesome and disturbing designs, giving us a clear look at the horrific enemies we’ll be battling.

The trailer also reveals another link to Warhammer 40,000: it was directed by Syama Pedersen, the creator of the popular ‘Astartes’ film, and produced by Hoplite VFX, known for their work on ‘Star Wars 212’. This team is highly skilled at creating realistic battle scenes involving small groups.

The trailer depicts a brutal fight between marines and pirates inside a decaying building. After they wipe each other out, unseen forces pull the bodies into a pit of slimy goo. From this goo emerges a terrifying creature – imagine a Terminator, but made of flesh. It’s a perfectly creepy trailer for Halloween!

Menace is coming to PC on February 5, 2026.
