‘We Couldn’t Get Past…’: Sebastian Stan Says Hollywood Celebrities Are Too Afraid To Talk About The Apprentice

As a dedicated follower of the arts and someone who has witnessed the ebb and flow of Hollywood for decades, I must say that the current situation surrounding Sebastian Stan‘s latest project, The Apprentice, is nothing short of disheartening. It’s appalling to see such fear and self-censorship in the industry, especially when it comes to tackling important and relevant topics like the life of Donald Trump.

Sebastian Stan is garnering accolades from other Hollywood stars after appearing in director Ali Abbasi’s film, The Apprentice. Although the movie has been criticized by Donald Trump for being politically motivated, much has transpired since its debut – including receiving threats from the President-elect.

During a recent showing of The Apprentice in Los Angeles, leading actor Stan shared that he’s been receiving warm support and recognition from prominent figures within the Hollywood movie scene.

In a recent statement, the actor from “The Devil All the Time” emphasized that the list comprises actors, directors, producers, and scriptwriters – everyone who has seen the movie.

Later on, Sebastian Stan mentioned that he had been offered a chance by Variety to appear on an Actor on Actors program this coming Friday. Regrettably, he couldn’t find someone to join him for the interview.

According to Sebastian Stan, they were so scared to discuss that film, that he found himself unable to bring up the topic as well.

In simpler terms, the actor who was nominated for an Emmy for his role in Pam & Tommy clarified that he wasn’t targeting any particular individual when he made certain statements. He explained that it was difficult to discuss the life of Donald Trump because they couldn’t get through to his publicists or representatives due to their reluctance to engage on this topic.

At the recent screening event, both the actor from The Last Full Measure and director Ali Abbasi from The Apprentice were in attendance.

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but share the sentiment expressed by Sebastian Stan, acclaimed director Adam McKay, renowned for his masterpieces like Don’t Look Up and Vice, when he exclaimed on X (formerly Twitter), “This is revolting.

Afterward, he emphasized that the most effective approach to face “the impending challenges” will require “extreme unity.” However, these actions taken by the celebrities appear to run counter to that concept.

Sharing on social platforms, the director himself, Abbasi, expressed his sentiments with the post: “This is our challenge!

In this movie, I’m immersed in an exploration of Donald Trump’s early years. The narrative unfolds, revealing pivotal moments from the life of a young Trump, who zealously adheres to the teachings of Roy Cohn – a relentless Republican attorney previously associated with Joe McCarthy.

Instead of Sebastian Stan portraying Trump, it’s Jeremy Strong who embodies the character of Roy Cohn.

The Apprentice is scheduled to be released on October 11, 2024.
