[Watch] Sophie Turner Spotted as Lara Croft in Action on Set of Amazon’s Live-Action ‘Tomb Raider’ Series

As a huge Tomb Raider fan, I’m really excited to see Sophie Turner taking on the role of Lara Croft! They’ve started filming the new series for Amazon Prime Video, and from what I’ve seen of the set footage, it looks like it’s going to be packed with action – exactly what you’d expect from a Tomb Raider adventure.

New videos and photos recently released by the Daily Mail show filming taking place in Surrey, England. Actress Jodie Turner is performing demanding action sequences, including using two pistols, battling opponents, and throwing a grenade through a window. Fans will notice the scenes closely resemble those from the original video games.

The footage reveals she skillfully wields both guns simultaneously in battle – a technique familiar to players of the earlier games. While this dual-wielding style appeared less often in newer installments, its return is particularly exciting for veteran fans.

The pictures clearly show what she’s wearing. Instead of a typical tank top and shorts, she’s dressed for action in practical clothes. She’s wearing cargo pants, a layered top with a vest, and a belt to hold things. She also has tall boots, a knife, and a small backpack. Her hair is braided and pulled back, completing her simple, ready-to-go look.

Naomi Scott underwent extensive training for the action sequences, and her preparation is evident in her performance. The series is spearheaded by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the creator of Fleabag, who is both writing and producing it.

Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, and Celia Imrie are also part of the cast. Joining them is Kaya Scodelario, known for her role in Game of Thrones, and becoming the latest actress to portray Lara Croft.

The list features Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander, both actresses who have played the character in previous movies.

We don’t have a confirmed release date yet, but the available footage suggests the show will deliver a blend of exciting action and the traditional Tomb Raider feel fans love.
