At Brick Technology, they highlight that the train features an open roof specifically designed for easy and quick cat escapes, a crucial aspect given the nature of cats. Initially, the felines were hesitant about their new train car, so they were slowly introduced to it to prevent any unnecessary fear. Here’s more on how Brick Technology developed this innovative feline-friendly transportation system.
Constructing a LEGO cat-friendly train using custom 3D printed rails and wheels, as my feline companions Cookie and Muffin are yearning for a more leisurely travel option than walking. Traditional LEGO isn’t suitable for constructing a large-scale train that can accommodate cats due to its limited wheel and rail size for smooth motion. To address this challenge, 3D printing technology was employed to design the necessary components. The rail switches employ magnets or rubber for seamless transitions. Each bogie includes a suspension system to handle irregular tracks and curvature adjustments, with each wheel powered by a robust, space-efficient LEGO L motor. Aluminum axles are used to prevent bending under weight. Three LEGO Powered Up hubs power the train, providing room for additional sensors to further automate its operation.
