As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for quality content, I am genuinely excited about the renewal of Netflix’s Owning Manhattan for a second season. Having spent years immersed in the world of real estate and luxury living, I can attest that the high-stakes, fast-paced environment depicted in this series is as captivating as it is relatable.
Netflix has given the go-ahead for another season of the real estate series “Owning Manhattan,” starring Ryan Serhant. On August 27th, Serhant shared the exciting news about the Netflix reality show’s renewal in an entertaining Instagram post.
The video shows him noticing the number two everywhere he goes, from street signs to a vendor selling water for $2. He even brokers a deal over the phone for $2 million and misses a 12:22 p.m. meeting. The video ends with him getting a call that people want more of his show, sparking the idea to put up a billboard announcing Season 2.
The series delves into the bustling, glamorous realm of elite real estate in New York City, offering a peek into Serhant’s endeavor as he establishes his brokerage and pursues the city’s most lavish properties. Accompanied by a group of agents, they strive to make their brokerage the finest on a global scale.
The first season of Owning Manhattan consisted of eight episodes and was created by World of Wonder Productions. It became incredibly popular, ranking among the Top 10 TV shows in 30 different countries and staying in the Top 10 for two weeks within the U.S. Ryan Serhant, who is no stranger to real estate reality TV, had previously starred in Million Dollar Listing New York for nine seasons until it concluded in 2021.
For the upcoming Season 2, not all of the initial cast members will be reprising their roles. Maggie Wu chose to move to a rival firm at the end of Season 1. Jonathan Nørmølle was dismissed by Serhant during the first season, and Savannah Gowarthy also decided to leave the brokerage.
Among the potential agents coming back for Season 2 could be Nile Lundgren, Genesis Suero, Jordan Hurt, both Jordans (Hurt and March), Jessica Markowski, Jess Taylor, Tricia Lee, Jeffrey St. Arromand, Chloe Tucker Caine, and Jade Shenker.
Serhant revealed to Netflix’s Tudum that the reaction to the initial season, which debuted on June 28, was “immense.” He stated that the series is innovative and unlike any other television program, and he’s ecstatic that it has been embraced by audiences worldwide.
As we move into the upcoming season, Serhant hinted that stress levels will be high and competition will be intense. He explained, “Supplies are scarce everywhere, resulting in insufficient houses for our buyers, not even our real estate agents. Consequently, it’s a full-blown real estate battle at present, with immense pressure on me as CEO to guide us correctly.” Jokingly, he suggested that viewers should consider purchasing a couch with a safety belt because “rough waters are approaching.”
Following the cancellation of “Buying Beverly Hills” by Netflix after two seasons, news about Manhattan’s renewal surfaces. This show centered around Mauricio Umansky and his team at The Agency, which included daughters Farrah Brittany and Alexia Umansky. Other real estate shows on Netflix include “Selling Sunset,” “Selling the OC,” and “Buying London.”
