To celebrate Superman Day, director James Gunn revealed a fresh behind-the-scenes video featuring sneak peeks of his upcoming Superman film, set to hit theaters in July.

The video showcases fresh perspectives on Anthony Carrigan’s character, Metamorpho; David Corenswet portraying the Man of Steel; Isabela Merced in the role of Hawkgirl, and additional characters as well.

”What a joy. What an honor,” said Gunn on social media. “So lucky to be here.”

Gunn also showed off a new BTS image and the Funko Pops.

Superman gets released July 11, 2025.

This summer, prepare for the global release of “Superman,” DC Studios’ initial film adaptation, produced by Warner Bros. Pictures. In his distinctive approach, James Gunn brings the original superhero to life within a freshly envisioned DC universe. By combining spectacular action sequences, humor, and emotional depth, Gunn presents a Superman who acts out of compassion and faith in human kindness.

In this project, Peter Safran and James Gunn serve as producers, with Gunn himself taking on directorial duties using a script he’s written. The story draws inspiration from DC Comics characters, with the iconic hero Superman originally conceived by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.

In this film, David Corenswet, known for “Twisters” and “Hollywood,” takes on a double role as both Superman and Clark Kent. Rachel Brosnahan, from “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” plays Lois Lane, while Nicholas Hoult, familiar from the “X-Men” films and “Juror #2,” portrays Lex Luthor. Additionally, the cast includes Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell.

The television series “Superman” is overseen by executive producers Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars Winther. In the creative team, Gunn works alongside regular collaborators such as director of photography Henry Braham, production designer Beth Mickle, costume designer Judianna Makovsky, composer John Murphy, David Fleming (“The Last of Us”), editors William Hoy (“The Batman”), Jason Ballantine (the “IT” films, “The Flash”), and Craig Alpert (“Deadpool 2,” “Blue Beetle”).

DC Studios Presents a Collaborative Production between Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company, under the direction of James Gunn, titled “Superman.” This film is set to hit cinemas and IMAX screens across the U.S. on July 11, 2025, and it will be released internationally starting from July 9, 2025. The distribution for this movie is handled by Warner Bros. Pictures.
