5. One-Punch Man

Saitama, a jobless and melancholic young fellow, lacks a meaningful direction in life. Unexpectedly, he encounters a man resembling a crustacean who is searching for a boy with a chin marking that the crab man describes as “reminiscent of a donkey’s.” Surprisingly, Saitama crosses paths with this boy and chooses to protect him from the crab man. After a tough struggle, he eventually overpowers the crab man.

After that point, Saitama opts to take up the role as a superhero and dedicates himself to training intensely for three years: performing 100 push-ups, 100 squats, 100 sit-ups, and running 10 kilometers each day, regardless of any temperature or climate control.

Each level boasts a medieval-themed environment and a labyrinthine dungeon guarded by a boss character. Defeating these bosses is essential for players to progress upwards to the next level.

In my opinion, much like other role-playing titles, this game incorporates a level progression mechanism. But what sets it apart is an intriguing twist that occurred post-beta testing: the game’s architect devised a means to ensnare players within Aincrad, effectively barring any disconnection from the virtual world.
