7 years after battling breast cancer, Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson has shared her emotional journey in a newly published edition of her book, Elle. As she prepares for the release, she openly discussed her experiences following her diagnosis with the Australian Women’s Weekly. In this candid interview, she revealed that she is currently in remission from cancer.

During an interview with a magazine, a television personality disclosed that her lumpectomy results indicated she had HER2-positive, estrogen-receptive intraductal carcinoma. Subsequently, medical professionals advised the famous actress to undergo cancer treatment, followed by a mastectomy and chemotherapy sessions. In discussing her cancer treatment, Macpherson confided in the media outlet, “It was a shock; it was unexpected; it was confusing; it was overwhelming in so many ways.” The entrepreneur added that she viewed the diagnosis through a holistic perspective, as it offered her the chance “to discover a solution that suited me.”

During her conversation with the magazine, Macpherson expressed, “I discovered I needed my own truth, my personal beliefs, to help me get through it. That’s exactly what I did.” She continued, “It was a fantastic experience of being true to myself, trusting my instincts, and trusting the path of my body and the decisions I made.”

In her upcoming book, the TV host went on to describe her treatment choices.

Revealing that there has been no easy process to go through the cure of the disease. The businesswoman shared that she was aware that no treatment has a complete guarantees.

She stated, “Saying no to standard medical solutions was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life.” Macpherson went on to pen, “People thought I was crazy. But I knew I had to make a choice that truly resonated with me. To me, that meant addressing emotional as well as physical factors associated with breast cancer, and that took courage.”
