Warner Bros. Discovery Removes Almost Every Classic Cartoon From HBO Max

Warner Bros. Discovery recently rectified a trivial error by reinstating “HBO” in Max. Regrettably, restoring its original name hasn’t ceased its owner from repeating the same questionable actions. Last year, WBD closed down Cartoon Network, which was already disappointing, but now HBO Max has made matters more disheartening. This streaming platform has removed all classic cartoons from the service completely.

According to “Discussing Film”, if you sign into HBO Max hoping to find old Cartoon Network shows, you’ll find very few options. In the past, their Boomerang page was filled with classic animated series, some of which are among the most renowned cartoons ever made. Now, it’s more like a small apartment where only Scooby-Doo and the gang live in seclusion. The only old Cartoon Network shows still available to stream are “Scooby Doo, Where Are You!” and “The Scooby Doo Show”.

Essentially, unexpectedly, all alternative versions of well-known characters and assets from the past have vanished, taking a significant amount of brilliance with them in an instant.

Some customers, who choose HBO Max for its collection of cherished, old cartoons like Looney Tunes, Flintstones, Tom and Jerry, and Yogi Bear, are unable to access these classic episodes. It seems that The Flintstones have been erased from history, Tom and Jerry have vanished, David Zaslav has turned Yogi Bear into a bear rug, and all the beloved Hannah-Barbera characters you remember from your childhood have been repurposed as gourmet dishes served at a billionaire’s extravagant brunch on his third luxury yacht.

It’s really unfortunate, especially with the cancellation of Cartoon Network programs. And that appears to be typical behavior from Warner Bros. Discovery.

The initial appeal of streaming services was the convenience of accessing a vast digital archive spanning several decades. However, they’ve often become recurring sources of frustration. This is especially true for HBO Max, despite its renowned reputation. It still faces many of the same issues it had before.
