Gaijin Entertainment, creators of War Thunder, have revealed they’ve purchased a bespoke Fortnite game titled The Pit from its initial designer. While the exact figure wasn’t disclosed, reports suggest the transaction amounts to “millions,” signifying a significant change in direction for the studio.
This achievement is a significant landmark not only for Epic Games but also for the way they’ve positioned Fortnite as a hub for user-generated content. Epic Games rewards popular map creators in Fortnite based on their engagement, and these payments are attractive enough to draw the interest of established game development studios.
Gavin “Geerzy” Gear, the creator of The Pit, has been collaborating with EndoWorlds, a subsidiary of Gaijin, for the past two months in preparation for the transfer of ownership. This collaboration ensures a seamless transition process.
As an ardent enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that EndoWorlds is committed to maintaining and enhancing “The Pit” within Fortnite, a heart-pounding, free-for-all Player versus Player (PvP) game mode.
