It’s become apparent in my line of work that Critical Role enthusiasts are insatiable when it comes to Critical Role content. Prime Video seems to understand this as well, given their upcoming Vox Machina sequel series, The Mighty Nein. After more than two years of anticipation, we finally have a release date for the new group of misfits embarking on their own adventures. Amazon has announced that the show will premiere in November. Additionally, it’s been confirmed that the series will boast a number of well-known guest stars.
As a movie reviewer, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news from Prime Video! During pop culture’s grandest gathering at San Diego Comic-Con, they unveiled their upcoming original series, a collaboration between Critical Role and Titmouse. This intriguing show will grace our screens worldwide on November 19th.
For those yet to be introduced, this party lives for adventure and chaos! Here’s the official synopsis:
“The Mighty Nein, a motley crew of heroes and rogues, navigate a fantastical world filled with magic, mystery, and mayhem. As they seek to unravel the secrets of their past, they must confront powerful forces that threaten not only their lives but also the fate of the realm.”

A band of exiles and outcasts, tied by hidden pasts and wounds, form the group known as The Mighty Nein. However, when a potent magical artifact called “The Beacon” gets seized by perilous forces, they realize they must unite to save their world from impending collapse and prevent the very fabric of reality from disintegrating.
Tinkering with mysterious ancient artifacts might seem intriguing, but it’s wiser to leave them untouched due to their immense power.
Apart from announcing the release date, Amazon Prime Video additionally unveiled sneak peeks of new episodes and character illustrations at San Diego Comic-Con.
The show’s panel highlighted the notable stars who will voice characters in The Mighty Nein’s initial season. This stellar cast includes Mark Strong, Alan Cumming, Tim McGraw, Anika Noni Rose, Ming-Na Wen, Auli’i Cravalho, Rahul Kohli, Robbie Daymond, and Jonathan Frakes.
They’ll be part of the series alongside stars and co-founders of Critical Role, including Laura Bailey, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Matthew Mercer, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, and Travis Willingham. Tasha Huo (known for her role in Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft) is the showrunner.
