Virginia Giuffre’s family has announced their intention to establish a memorial in honor of Virginia, who sadly passed away at her Australian residence on April 25. Virginia’s sister-in-law Amanda Roberts started a GoFundMe campaign aiming to collect £10,000 for the creation of this public memorial. According to Amanda, it is important to have an enduring tribute that reflects Virginia’s significant and lasting influence in the world.
On the fundraising page, Roberts disclosed that the resolution of her estate related to the Prince Andrew case is underway in Australia, and it may take several years for the proceedings to be completed.
To clarify for those who might not know, Prince Andrew faced allegations that he took advantage of Giuffre on three separate instances when she was still a minor. In the year 2022, he chose to settle the lawsuit out of court. The specific amount of the settlement was never publicly revealed, but it was commonly reported at the time to be approximately 12 million dollars. It’s been suggested by legal experts that more details about the settlement might come to light once her estate has been settled.
The GoFundMe page message states: “It’s crucial that we create a way to honor her lasting impact. Virginia bravely fought and testified, earning settlements, however, it’s unfortunate that due to this tragedy, estates often take years to finalize. As many of you might be aware, her family in America is determined to commemorate and celebrate her spirit while her estate is being processed in Australia.
Roberts further explained that the memorial isn’t solely dedicated to Giuffre, but serves as a tribute to all survivors and advocates who empathize with her ordeals. Moreover, she vowed to carry on Giuffre’s crusade for legal reform, aiming to safeguard victims of sexual abuse and ensure that perpetrators cannot evade justice.
This past week, the family of Giuffre shared a handwritten message she penned prior to her passing. In this message, Giuffre expressed the need for unity among us all in advocating for the rights of survivors. She further emphasized that protesting is merely the beginning of a lengthy battle ahead.
Virginia Giuffre bravely helped uncover Epstein’s sex trafficking operation. She claimed that Epstein had trafficked her when she was only 16 years old. Furthermore, she accused other powerful individuals of being part of this trafficking ring, though not every one of them was explicitly identified.
