The dialogue between Presidents Obama and George W. Bush is indirect, as it takes place through a White House employee. Earlier this week, user @ElaserDavies shared the widely-shared video, commenting: “On their way to the Capitol Rotunda, Staffer to Bush: ‘Will you be on your best behavior?’ Obama responds from behind: ‘No.’
Currently, the video has been watched over 9.3 million times on the short-form video sharing app, and it has been interpreted by a user named Jackie, a TikToker who is deaf and specializes in creating content that lip-reads celebrities.
According to the TikToker’s account, it was said that the previous president asked Bush, “What can we do to prevent this?” (in reference to Trump’s inauguration), following which both ex-presidents shared a hearty laugh together.
As a devoted supporter, I myself had the opportunity to witness President Obama at Trump’s inauguration. Prior to that, I actively advocated for the Biden-Harris ticket. Subsequently, I lent my support not only to Vice President-elect Kamala Harris but also to Governor Tim Walz in the previous year.
During a campaign event for the Democratic candidate in Georgia, held in October 2024, the former president labeled Trump as “crazy” and expressed his belief that people no longer view him as credible. At that moment, Obama cautioned Americans about the potential dangers of Trump regaining power, suggesting risks far beyond our current comprehension.
