Apple TV+’s Pluribus quickly gained attention with its first preview. The streaming service had confidence in the series, created by Vince Gilligan, and ordered two seasons upfront. The first season premiered in November 2025 and further showcased the talent of Rhea Seehorn. Currently, Vince Gilligan is actively developing the second season, and the writing team is already working on it.
During a recent press event in Santa Monica, the show’s creator, Gilligan, gave an update on the upcoming season. He said that writing is underway, and he expressed gratitude to fans for allowing the team to reach this point. He explained that developing each episode takes considerable time, and while they’re further along in the process than he’d prefer given the limited number of episodes planned, it’s a similar pace to how the first season was developed.
Don’t expect season two of Pluribus to arrive as soon as The Pitt did. While fans are eager for more, Gilligan is tempering expectations. He explained they won’t be releasing new seasons annually like they did with The Pitt. “We appreciate your patience,” he said, “but it won’t be a yearly thing. I wish we could do that – it’s a great format like the old days with The X-Files, where we returned the same month every year. That’s not going to happen. We’ll aim for the same month, but the year is still to be determined.”
I think November 2027 is the most likely timeframe. With so many streaming services competing for attention, it’s important not to be absent for too long.
