For at least the second time, Vin Diesel has teased a Groot movie for the MCU.
The actor, of course, voiced Groot for James Gunn in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy films.
The newest hint suggests that Vin Diesel is working on a script for a film titled “The Arbor King” featuring Groot, and he recently shared AI-generated artwork depicting Groot facing off against the Hulk.
What does Vin Diesel say about the Groot movie?
Diesel has shared that he’s been captivated by the roots of the ‘Hobbit’ tale, which began as a bedtime story a father would share around a campfire with his kids.
He went on to say, “You’re aware that I’ve been heavily involved in the development and writing process for numerous characters that I have a connection with. Not too long ago, I shared with my family ‘The Arbor King,’ a much-anticipated tale about Groot returning to Planet X…
Diesel stated, “The world desires certain films, my amazing fans desire them too, and undoubtedly so do children. In essence, we are Groot!

Diesel’s Earlier Groot Teases
This isn’t the first time Diesel has hyped up a Groot solo project.
In July, he initially shared, but soon after removed a post stating that he had completed the sequel to Groot for our dear Disney team. He referred to it as “The Arbor King” as well.
Prior to this, he referred to “Planet X” as the highly anticipated Marvel movie featuring Groot’s return to his native planet.
The post originally read:
As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to pieces! After long hours of work, I’ve finally wrapped up the sequel for our friends at Disney – “The Arbor King,” featuring everyone’s favorite tree-like hero, Groot. It’s been a whirlwind journey, and there’s something about this continuation that feels special, unique even. Can’t help but chuckle at the excitement brewing! Truly blessed to be part of such an incredible project.
Will Marvel Actually Make a Groot Movie?
So far, Marvel hasn’t revealed any details about a potential Groot movie titled “Planet X” or “The Arbor King.” The closest thing we have is the “I Am Groot” animated series available on Disney+.
Additionally, no official word has been given about the involvement of the Guardians of the Galaxy in Avengers: Doomsday, and as of now, none of the actors or characters from this team have been confirmed to be a part of the movie’s cast.
It’s been revealed that Dave Bautista himself expressed interest in making a standalone Drax film, but Marvel Entertainment wasn’t keen on the idea, which appeared to displease Bautista.
Despite this, Diesel is well-known for leveraging social media to bring projects to life – perhaps most significantly with the creation of “Riddick 4”, a project he tirelessly promoted online over several years until it eventually began filming.
It’s unclear whether “The Arbor King” is a project Marvel is covertly working on or just an idea Vin Diesel is promoting with the aim of gathering fan interest. However, it’s clear that he is actively attempting to generate excitement about this concept.
